Question about LG LRSC26940ST 36" Side-by-Side Refrigerator w/ 26 Cu. Ft. Capacity, OptiChill Crisper & Jet Freezin...
My LG LRSC26940ST Refrigerator displayed error code Er dh. Problem with the defrost heater. Need to replace but need some help with making sure I order the right part. I looked at Repair Clinic and found the defrost heater part but I don't see it anywhere in the Frige. Looked in the inner back of the freezer where the exploded view showed, but can't locate where the part would be. What part do I need and where is it located? Please help!
Hi. You have an Error Defrost Heater. Its taking too long for the heater sensor to open the circuit during defrost. You normally replace the heater, heater sensor and circuit board(motherboard) located on the back of the refrigerator in this situation. Check your mollex plugs and make sure they are connected tightly at the evaporator coil area. Sometimes they come loose. I reccommend replacing the heater and heater sensor located top right on the evaporator coil. This should take care of the problem. Need parts see me on ebay as user, themackshack. Good luck, Mack

Check for current flow through the defrost heater. If no current then replace the heater. If heater is OK check thermistor for correct operation.
From service manual chart (their words not mine):
ER DH is Poor defrosting.
Indicates: Even though it is passed
1 hour since then
Defrosting , if Defrosting
sensor is not over 8°
Remarks: Temperature fuse Disconnection,Heater

The main Pcb as well as the defrost thermistor are in the circuit as well.
The thermister is attached to the evaporator with wire ties and connects to the roof of the freezer behind the fan assy.
I have seen the thermister connector pull out of the connector at the top of the freezer beacuse the wires were to tight. Remove some of the wire ties and reinstall the connector.
