Use Pinnacle Studio. I've used it with my GS500 for 4 years now. Started with Studio ver. 9, then 10, now 12. Haven't upgraded to the new ver. 14 yet, but probably will. Studio is fairly resource intensive, so make sure you are running it on a decent computer (needs a bunch of memory). Adding a Firewire port on your computer is also a huge plus also.

Windows Movie Maker is pretty limited. I think Microsoft gave up on software like that. Especially since it creates files in version 8 format. I think there up to 11 these days.

Pinnacle Studio is a good program to use. I have used it professionally for over 5 years now and have produced 100s of videos and DVDs with it covering everything from You Tube videos up to a wedding I shot for a client this last weekend.

Once you connect your camera to it and turn it on, it gives you the option to start it up.

How can I edit my video disc

I don't know if your camcorder have features to edit videos in camcorder itself, while some camcorders can. If it dosen't, you need to edit DVD videos on computer with an editor such as ArcSoft ShowBiz. And you need to check your DVD disc style at first. Some discs support rewriting so you can shoot a video, edit it, delete it, shoot a new one all on one disc. Some don't, once you finalize it, nothing can be modifyed. For those rewritable discs, ShowBiz is really a good choice, which enables you to edit disc frames, customize buttons, layers, etc. It even support blu-ray discs editing and burning.

Create online tutorials with FCE-Distribute Edited HMC150 MTS files to BlipTV or...

Convert/Edit HMC150 AVCHD MTS Videos to FCE and Distribute via BlipTV and TubeMogul

I am recording on a Panasonic HMC-150 (typically in 1080p30 and 1080p24) and do my editing in FCE. However I need a program to convert the recorded files into something FCE can recognize. I do online tutorials and Distributee to roughly a couple dozen different sites through BlipTV and TubeMogul. So far I've been limited to recording in 720p30 because it's the best format that I can work with through iMovie (I use imovie to import the raw video, export as a quicktime and then import into FCE for final editing then do a final QT conversion to mpeg-4 for upload; and to be honest not real excited on the quality I'm getting as a finished video. So I need a program which can let me Create online tutorials with FCE and convert Panasonic HMC-150 1080p MTS to high quality FCE suitable format for editing. After editing, I need Distributee to different sites through BlipTV and TubeMogul.

After searching a Panasonic HMC-150 AVCHD to FCE converter, I find Aunsoft Final Mate for Mac as the preferred Panasonic HMC-150 to FCE MOV converter on Mac OS X like Leopard and Snow Leopard. It is a great choice to do online tutorials with FCE and then Distribute via BlipTV or TubeMogul with perfect quality.

To help those who may face the same problem like me, or want to rewrap AVCHD to AIC .mov on Mac for HD editing in Final Cut Express, I here list a few steps with the fast AIC video conversion.

Step1. Capture/Import AVCHD files to Aunsoft Final Mate for Mac.
Connect Panasonic HMC-150 camcorder to computer via USB cable, and launch Aunsoft Final Mate for Mac from Application folder. With built-in wizard, you can easily to capture mts video footage from camcorder to the program. Select "Import" instead of Backup to quickly capture videos from camcorder. You can find imported videos under "Camcorder Tab" in the main interface of Final Mate.

Step2. Merge Panasonic HMC-150 AVCHD files into one movie for conversion.
Click the drop-down button of "Add Movie" icon and choose "For Conversion" to create a blank movie. Once you've imported your video footage, drag and drop the video clips from Camcorder Tab to the blank movie in Movies Tab. In this way, all video clips will be merged as one single movie for conversion.

Step3. Convert HMC-150 MTS files to FCE MOV.
Click the Export button and choose "Export into Editor". Follow iMovie or Final Cut Express > Apple Intermediate Codec (*.mov) to choose output format for editing in FCE. My panasonic camcorder is sdr-h40 i can't load my videos in to my pc sence i've upgrade my computer from windows xp to windows 7 my sd card/hard disk video camera software video cam suite 1.0 is not...

Hi, the VideoCam software isn't compatible with Windows 7, but you can still copy videos and pictures to your computer and edit or view them with other software. Videos are saved by default as MPEG-2 files, and photos are saved as JPEG files -- both of these formats are recognized by a wide variety of programs. (For example, Microsoft's Picture Viewer, which comes with Windows, can display JPEGs, and Microsoft Office Picture Manager can edit them.)

Panasonic PV-GS300 Mini DV Digital Camcorder Driver For Windows 7 I have used this camcorder on Windows XP

Okay, it is a pain in the neck, but it will allow you to get your videos off of the GS300 and into a usable .avi format...

If you go to the Panasonic Website, it will give you an option to download two video editing programs. Movie Studio and SweetMovieLife. Download SWEETMOVIELIFE, the other program is very limiting, but SweeMovieLife will capture the video and save it as an .avi file and you can then movie it into a better editing program such as Camtasia or Microsoft Movie Maker. It adds a few extra steps to the process, but will at least allow you to use the GS300 in the Windows 7 Environment until Microsoft wakes up and comes up with a fix for this extremely annoying issue!!! Hope this helps! :)

P.S. If you try to use MovieStudio, it saves the file as an .hap file and does not give you another option. None of my "real" video editing programs recognize that extension. Personally, I think the program was pretty useless.

Panasonic SDR H40 and Video Cam Suite 1

I have the same problem. What I will do is download the camera to a DVD recorder using the A/V cord which came from the camers. I purchased AVS4U program for $59 lifetime option with free frequent updates. I can down load the DVD to the computer and I can format them in about all possible formats eg WAV, MPEG 2 etc. I can edit the songs, etc to how I want them. I do this with live performances of our band "Charlie Horse Band" and I can record the whole set (up to an hour) and I can manipulate the final product with the editing functions of the many AVS4U products that come at the one price.
Hope this helps!
