I have a Sharp Microwave;Model # R-403 JFK; 1100-w; Serial # 440589; Manufactured Dec. 2005. The glass carousel turntable is broken. How do I get a replacement? How much will it cost? I live in Maryland. When I called Sharp, I was told that there is no such model #. I got the number from their appliance. I also see on your web-site there are other customers with the same model #. Thanks

Without more tests, I can't be completely positive but the turntable motor is the likely problem. That is part 1-4 on the list above. However, it could be a wiring problem with the wiring to the turntable motor.
Looks like you have the purchase the glass tray in order to get the coupler. I would give Reliable Parts a call though phone # is 1-800-666-0313. Give them your model number and the name of the part you need.
The original replacement tray (Sharp part # NTNT-0048MRF0) has been out of production for years and nothing else will fit, however, Martin may have a used replacement. If they don't have it, no one will!
Look at the owner's manual of similar Kenmore models there does not seem to be a setting that allows you to turn off the turntable. However if your microwave (sorry but I couldn't find your exact model number online) has the time of carousel that has a lift out glass plate with a notch (hub) in the center of the bottom side then you effectively turn of the carousel my removing this glass plate. (see pg 4 of the manual - above link) You can place a normal microwave safe plate in the microwave in it's place. Make sure to leave the rollers in place...just remove the turntable.
