The Ground wire is hooked up right but the red light wont go off and stay green so the amp will work. It is very frusterating all the cables are the right size its is a 1000 watt amp. I have two 500 watt Dual subwoofers connected, but as i said the red light one stay off and the green light wont come on. it comes on for literally a second and goes back to red. Please help me out. I spent all the money i had on the amp. Lost my job a week later and my Paycheck i spent on the amp was worthless unless it works.

Sounds to me like the amp is going into protection mode. Try placing one sub on the amp with very little gain. One of the biggest reason why this happens is because the subwoofers are wired wrong. What is the brand and model number for your amp?

  • Anonymous Apr 16, 2011

The Amp is a Formula mach 5175. I dont know if that helps you very much at all. We tried it on two systems my brothers and mine. he uses two vaga 12" subwoofers and it does the same thing.

Ouku single din no sound from rca cables

Sorry I did not use the video out RCA cables. My audio RCA cables worked fine... I ran them to my JBL amplifier through a conversion adapter. I did not run it direct to the amp.. I used Metra TYTO-01 03-08 Toyota Vehicles Harness for JBL SYS (Ebay item 160560648718) and it worked great.

Here is the wiring color coding that I found online:

Have issues with trailer lights. Both turn signals on trailer flash when I use left or right turn signal. Have 7 pin factory plug. Lights on trailer work fine, hooked up to 97 Silverado. Act funny on 2000...

Standard wiring colors are as follows:

4-Way

5-Way

6-Way

7-Way

Green

Yellow

Brown

White

Red

Blue

Purple

Right Turn & Brake

Left Turn & Brake

Tail Lights

Ground

Backup Lights

Electric Brakes

Auxiliary Power
Green- Right Turn and Brake
Yellow- Left Turn and Brake
Brown- Tail Lights
White- Ground
Red- Reverse (Back Up) Lights
Blue- Electric Brakes
Purple- Auxiliary Power

It sounds like your green and yello wires are shorted together somewhere along the length of the harness. I would check the wires on the trailer first. Easier yet, if you have another trailer to connec or access to another to use for testing, connect to it and see if the problem repeats; if it does the trouble is in the vehicle's wiring.

Kicker impulse 254 amp red light on top?

1st check all of your wiring, make sure the remote wire is hooked up, check to see it the RCA's are hooked up. I know this sounds stupid, but i've done it a thousand times, check to see if you hooked up the speakers. If you checked all of those and still nothing, double check your ground. Make sure where you have it grounded, you have all the paint sanded away and its a good grounding point. The red light on the top of the amp, its not a protection light is it??

Havin problem with a1200 class a/b amp it ligts green and red at same time after hooking in remote how doi fixdo i need diagram to fix

Make sure you don't have any shorts on your speaker wires or rca cables. Unplug one at a time, the turn on power until it stays green with no protect light, then you know what input is causing the short. If you remove all speaker wires and rca wires and all you have connected is the ground, power(12volts) and remote and it still lights up red/green(in protect mode) then your problem is the amp.

Kicker 750.1 Amp wont play music

it is probably the rca inputs on the amp may have fried. was your cd decked turned up loudly before the power went out? did any wires accidently touch each other? If had worked fine and then suddenly stopped, than either a wire came loose or the inputs fried. try using different cables and I also suggest disconnecting power for 24 hours and then reconnect. If the green light is on then it is getting power and the problem is in the rca cables or the inputs

Jensen Amp and Sub

If you followed the instructions correctly, then the amp must be defective. This is sort of simple.

My generic suggestions:
You have the power, the ground, the outputs to the speakers, and then the input.

Make sure that none of the speaker wires are somehow being grounded. Make sure that nothing is shorted that feeds the speakers.
