SOURCE: Jenn-Air Gas Cooktop Model CVGX2423

Just had this problem today on our seven or eight year old Jenn-Air cooktop. When using the front right burner all ignitors would continue to fire until I turned off the burner. The three other burners worked correctly. After trying all the obvious soulutions w/o success I pulled off that burners control knob and the rubber seal which exposed the valve. Their was a bunch of crud in there. I put a small (one inch) paint brush in there and vigorusly loosened all the crud. I then inserted the nozzle of our central vac - which just happened to fit perfectly - and sucked all the stuff out. I repeated the proceedure a couple more times, reassembled the knob and started the burner. Worked just perfectly!!! YMMV. Good luck.

SOURCE: Jenn-Air JGC8536 Gas Cooktop ignitor replacement

One burner doesn't consistently light. Igniter sparks but not the same as the other - "good" burners spark at top of igniter and moves around to light, "bad" burner sparks toward the bottom and doesn't move much. I can use the burner by lighting with a match and it works fine. Have tried cleaning with a toothbrush without much success

WHAT DO I USE TO CLEAN AN ELECTRIC JENN-AIR CERAMIC COOKTOP; THE BURNT FOOD BUILDUP.

a good product is CERAMABRYTE. it is designed for ceramic cooktops and is a white lotion type cleaner. if there is a lot of burned buildup you may also need to purchase a special scraper with a blade in it. but make sure you smear the cleanser on FIRST or you will scratch the surface.

What's best tu glue my cooktop on my granite countertop?

I don't think I'd glue it down permenantly. I just had to replace the ceramic glass on mine (a JED 8430 ABD) after it cracked. Thankfully, it wasn't glued down so I could replace it pretty easily (ordered part directly from Jenn Air). But some sort of seal to keep food out from under the cooktop would be nice. I just wouldn't go permenant. The fact that you have to tape the down draft to the external vent should keep the cooktop in one place (plus its own weight).
