It could be the settings in the application that you are using for your picture. With your picture-to-print open, click File -> Print. Click Properties, Preferences, Options or Setup. Make sure the setting is set to print in color and not black-only printing. Click Ok or Print.

Im trying to print a black and white document but it wont let me print because my color cartridge is missing

The Lexmark X2600 requires both cartridges to have ink in them to continue printing, even if your printing in "black and white". To print true black, you actually use some of the color ink. , Leaving the color cartridge empty or dry isn't good for the printer. It can lead to poor print quality issues.

Start, control panel, printers, your printer, printer preferences, advanced. Uncheck the complete-a-print boxes and also check to make sure the print in black & white box in unchecked.

Both of my ink cartridges are shown full, but only black ink prints. How can i fix this issue?

May be you have enabled Black & White printing.
You can open the printer settings and check this.
If its not possible, select 'Printers and Faxes' from start menu, right-click your printer and select 'Properties'.
Click 'Printing Preferences' and, if the Black & White' setting is selected, select 'Color'.
Click 'OK'.
Click the 'Advanced' tab and click 'Printing Defaults' and here also select 'Color'.
Click 'OK' and again click 'OK' to close the property window.
Now try printing a color document.
If you succeed, consider voting my solution.

It can be that your printer is set to print in grayscale mode. To check this (depending on the OS) follow these simple steps.
If you have Windows XP.
go to the Printers and Faxes under Control Panel. locate your printer and right click it, then choose Printing Preferences. now depending on your printer, you should be able to find and uncheck the option to print in grayscale.
If you have Windows 7.
Go to the Devices and Printers and follow the rest of the instructions.
Hope this resolves your concern. Good luck.

Can i print black and white text only when colour cartridges are empty but black is full on an ip14300?

you can make a selection from the File->Print option of your word processor or whatever package you are using. it is your command that sets the printer to B&W or color. If your Black ink finishes then the printer even if set to color will print black as near black with color inks.

Wouldn't print black-and-white if the color cartridge is empty

Select true black and white. Any other setting uses the colour cartridge to sharpen the printing.

HP 932 RED LIGHT STAYS ON

The light you describe is the ink light.
When that light is blinking, try this.

Turn on the printer. Open the front cover and look at the carrier for the ink cartridges. There is a white arrow right above the latch for the color cartridge.
Once the carrier stops moving, the white arrow should be pointing to a symbol which represents the problem (the reason the light is blinking.) Examples are low ink black, low ink color, sick black ( replace ) , sick color ( replace ).

IF you have just replaced your black cartridge, you might need to replace your color cartridge too.
This printer will not work without both ink cartridges installed and full.
You cant print with a full black and an empty color cartridge unfortunately, even if you only want to print black.

Hope this helps!

Printer

I had same problem it wont print with just black even by using the settings. You can trick it into thinking the color cartridge are full by taking out the color cartridge and taping over the clear part of the cartridge were you can see the level of ink.Thats how the machine knows weather or not the ink is full by looking through the glass by either light or some other way and if its blocked it thinks its full.
