I have a different samsung phone, but I just bought the cable and downloaded the same program. I did manage to get it working. If your computer doesn't have bluetooth, and only newer expensive laptops do, then you are going to need the usb cable. I got mine on ebay for 99 cents plus $3 shipping. The company I got it from sent me the software, but it was for a different phone. Once I went to samsung.com and got the right software, it worked great. I can now get my pictures off of my phone and to the computer. sorry for the long winded answer, but the short answer is you need the cable. Try ebay, they are cheap cheap.
