Auto Ice Maker Not Making Ice

Model: 23.6 cu ft; TFX24PR, TFH24PR, TFT24PR

Arm is straight down, no ice making. Could entering water line be frozen? If so, how do we unfreeze?

SOURCE: Ice Maker Won't Stop Making Ice

There is an adjustment for the "harvest" bar (The bar you lifted up). That bar you are lifting up tells the ice-maker that the cubes have fallen into the ice storage and starts the ice-making cycle over. It is also the Limit switch for the ice level in the storage container ... if it stays up for preset time determined by the manufacturer it stops making ice... most all ice-machines use the same devices. they vary little in design. Sometimes you can just gently bend the bar down to the point where it turns-off the machine at the level you want ... unless you can get to the adjustment hinge you can adust it there. For the fact it goes off when you lift it all the way up tells me the harvest switch is turning the ice-maker off.

SOURCE: water dispenser

Disconnect the water line at the bottom front of the frig. Press the lever to dispense water. If you get water out of the line, then the water line to the water dispenser is frozen inside the door. Leave the freezer door open for a few minutes to soften the ice. Use a length of plastic line from a string trimmer to push into the water dispenser and force the ice out the bottom of the water tube.

SOURCE: problem with fridge ice maker

assuming the freezer is cold enough and that you have a valid water supply hooked up, either the icemaker is bad or the water valve is bad, best idea is to replace both.

SOURCE: Ice maker only makes crushed ice

Pull the ice bucket out. Behind it you will see a rectangular hole with a rod in it. The rod should be able to move with your one finger up and down. If it does not, the solonoid attached to it is either frozen or burnt out.

Model #WSF26C2EXY02. Why is ice maker not making ice?

When the ice-tray is full it pushes 'UP' a lever that shuts the water supply off. When you move the lever down all goes back to normal.

How do you unfreeze a frozen water line to the ice maker

i don't understand what you're discribing but if one of the lines are frozen you can use a hair dryer to melt it,put heat on for like a minute and take it off,you don't want to damage any of the plastic parts.

The ice maker is not working. The arm is down and I cant see any frozen ice that would make it stop.

Make sure there is a water supply. If the water kit was installed make sure the valve is on where it taps into your cold water line. Check if there is unfrozen water in the part where there are 8-10 plastic fingers or tabs. If there is no water there will never be any ice. It should always be full of either ice or water. It is also possible the valve where the plastic tube enters the back of fridge has stopped working but that is very unlikely. If you have never had the ice working then there is an electric plug for the valve control near where the water tube conects behind the cardboard. It only fits on one way but may need to be connected.

Whirlpool icemaker

Try using an hairdryer or defrosting the unit completely , this often get rid of blockage caused by frozen lines fixing the problem.

The water lines can also be unblocked from dirt using a thin flexible shaft. This after defrosting.

If all that does not fix the problem, then you may need to replace the water valve, the icemaker solenoid, or the whole icemaker assembly.
