4 Moderntumble dryers also have sensors and pcb's (Printed circuitboards) thesehaveprograms that can fail and circuitry although most should produce an errorcodeshowing you were the fault is.

Hotpoint aquarius tumble dryer, drum not going round but still

If you can hear the motor going, then the belt probably needs replacing, if no motor action, then prob is more serious.

Please rate my solution.
Thanks.

My hotpoint ctd 40 wont heat up

Things that could stop a electric dryer from heating:
- house fuse or breaker ( needs two of them ), heating element, burnt wire, thermostat(s), thermal fuse ( not all models ), motor heat switch, timer, selector switch, burnt power cord/plug.
A ohm meter test for these parts is here.

Hotpoint tumble dryer tdl31p

If you are getting 240v on all element connections then you are missing a neutral and the element will not heat.
Please check this and post your findings.
Thankyou.

I don't have any heat from my hotpoint aquarius ctd40G Tumble Dryer. I have cleared all the fluff from the condenser unit and unplugged the mains and tryed it all again but we still do not have any heat...

Remove the rear cover and you will see the element and stats, you will need a meter to test them.
Pull one wire off each thermostat and with a meter that beeps, test across each thermostat, if they are o/k, then the meter will beep,
if no beep then no good.
Replace all heater stats, even if only one has gone
If the stats are o/k then you will have to check the heater, this is more involved as it entails removing the top cover and left side panel looking at the dryer from the rear.
Unplug the heater lead, and again test with meter,if element o/k, then prob is timer or main pcb could be faulty, it really does get quite involved.
There is also a thermistor at the front of the dryer, that is part of the heating circuit.
Plz rate my solution.
Thnks.
