SOURCE: BenQ FP767 17" Power but no display?
Different faults here.
First fault is no power, it is bad capacitors on the power board.
Second & third faults are the inverters. (power but no image visible, but feint if you shine a light into the screen)
Check the 4 transistors on the main power board for shorts.
If you are unsure what that means, then take it to your local TV technician, he should be able to solve it fairly cheaply.
Hope that helps.
SOURCE: BenQ FP731 Screen briefly displays then turns off
Did an independent diagnosis before finding this, and came to same conclusion. First found fuse PF751 was open circuit (3A black plastic fuse, not glass) over close to main heat sinks. When I replaced that with a fine fine strand of wire (for testing) then I saw Q759 (C5707) get hot. Checking the others shows that they should be driving into about 420 ohms on the primary side of the transformer for the flourescent lights (backlights) but on this one it was less than 1ohm. I've unsoldered the Q759 and now I measure 420ohms here too. Now I need to find a new C5707 or equivalent...
SOURCE: BenQ FP767 17" Problem: Monitor wont turn on
Check four 5707, two 9204, and one bel 3A slow blow fuse. Also re-solder all cap and transformer. It's quiet common on benq and Dell(benq OEM) 17 LCD. For detail google "benq 5707", sure you can found. Good luck
