Bernina 430 sewing/embroidery machineWhen trying to set up and embroidery project. It is ready to stitch out, sent from computer no problem. When I go to hit the start button on the sewing machine a picture comes up on the screen, it looks like a stair step with an arrow above it. Nothing is shown in the manual as to what this means.

Lower the feed dog. THere is a button on the right side of the machine; lower left corner. Push it in.

Will bernina art-link software work on my brother se 400 machine?

.pes - A stitch-based file format used by Brother and Babylock embroidery home sewing machines. .pec - A stitch-based file format used by Brother and Babylock embroidery home sewing machines. .hus - The stitch-based file format used by Husqvarna/Viking embroidery home sewing machines.
==========================================
The .exp format is a commercial format while .art is a BERNINA-specific embroidery format. Embroidery designs in .art format keep their fancy fill effects even after rescaling the designs whereas the effects may be lost when editing .exp format files on the machine.

I would like to hear about other owners of the 880 and what problems they have had.

Go to Yahoo Groups and search for Bernina 880. The Bernina users would be the best place to get answers about problems and suggestions of what to do.

Why does machine sew then stop after maybe 8 or 10 stitches?

You obviously have a faulty machine take it back to your dealer where you bought or directly contact Bernina.
Best wishes.

Aurora 430 Bernina

Hi, possibly your feedogs are dropped and in the darning position and/or its thinking you want to embroider and there is NO hoop attached or entire embroidery unit plugged in. Check your feedog button below the handwheel on the bottom.

430 will not recognize wembroidery unit.

I am the person who posted the solution about too much stabilizer. Unfortunately that did not solve the problem in the long term. I spoke with the Bernina dealer and found out that the sewing machine needed to be recalibrated. I found out how to do this from my user manual and the problem appears to be solved for now... hope that works for you

Bernina Aurora 430

I figured out the solution for this issue. It all has to do with the threading. And I mean literally follow the instructions word for word. Most importantly is the Bobbin thread. make sure to thread the bobbin through the case eyelet.
