I have a Lexmark 3400 Printer is there any way to run it on vista windows

Here's the link to the Lexmark driver page for that printer. Choose the correct version for your computer's operating system (ie-Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7). Let me know how you make out.

If you are running Windows XP or Vista, you may use the generic driver for Lexmark 3400 series. All you have to do is to connect the printer to the computer and let the computer detect it. If the printer is not a Plug-n-Play device, the computer would allow you to manually select the generic driver.

You may want to see if the Printer is actually compatible with Windows Vista first before you try anything else.

If your Printer is Listed Below, then unfortunately it will not run on your system unless you format the machine and downgrade to Windows XP. (Or obviously you can wait until the device is supported, but to be honest that could be months, years).

A web page will open, follow instructions, select model, select operative system etc., and click on download .
Chose to download the file in my documents when asked.
Afterdownloading,findthefile,doubleclick on the file, if you get introubles,thenfollowinstructions below to reset and reinstall:

• Unplug printer USB.
• Go to control panel >> installed printers in Windows and remove (delete ) any installed printer from printer list.
• Download driver from website and run the file.
  
• Follow driver installation wizard.
• Plug back printer when prompted from installation wizard.

Note:some printer does not work on Vista

I have a lexmark 3400 and it will not scan for what am i doing wrong??

Try installing the disc as Administrator account as opposed to a generic user account.

Most problems with Vista stem from the strict protocol of not being able to modify windows in any way, unless logged on as Admin.

This may also be the case for several other applications or programs as well.
