Try going to 192.168.0.1 try that one then type in your password or the default password which is always admin for both username and password. If this does not work then go and unplug the router for about 25 seconds and wait then plug it back in then go to the reset button and hit that quick and wait for it to reset then this will bring everything back to default value and you can try going to 192.168.1.1 or 198.162.0.1 and whichever works for you and opens up the username and password window type in admin for username and leave the password empty if that does not work then do both using admin for password as well and fill in the username with admin this should bring you to the router settings page. Thanks for using FixYa! Make sure the router is plugged in and working and hooked up correctly to your computer. John

Open a web browser. Type 192.168.1.1 in the address bar. Username is admin Password is admin
Unless you changed your password to the router, in which case you will have to do a hard reset on the router to get all the defaults back. This means, more than likely you will have to setup anything that you had configured on the router before the reset.

If you are facing issue while you are trying to configure your router then there may be some technical issue. Do one thing, disconnect router from modem and do switch off power to the router. After a couple of minutes start it again. Router user name and password are same. If you facing issue with user name and password then you can get it from 19216811admin.info

When I go to my browser on my Polaroid tablet, it

The guest access password would be assigned when you (or somebody) installed and configured your router.

In that case, you would need to look at your router configuration to find the password. This is usually done by directing your web browser to your router by typing in a web address something like http://192.168.1.1. After you connect and login, you will see screens that show your router configuration and you are looking for something like "wireless access" or "guest access". You will need to know the administrative user id and password of your router to see these screens.

Perhaps you already have other computers or devices (printer, Wii, Roku) connected wirelessly in your home. In that case, use the same wifi password that you used to connect those devices.

If, in fact, *nobody* configured your router (you just brought it home and plugged it in), then the default configuration will be active and you could find the default password in the documentation, either printed or online.

In any case, you could get better answers if you said what brand and model of router you are using.

Maybe your router came from your ISP (telephone or cable company) and they configured it. In this case, you could call their tech support line and ask for the password.

How to set the wireless password

The wireless password is set in your router configuration.

You need to access your router's configuration screens to set the password. This is usually done by directing your web browser to your router by typing in a web address something like http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1. After you connect and login, you will see screens that show your router configuration and you are looking for something like "wireless access" or "wifi access".

You will need to know the administrative user id and password of your router to login and access these screens. Assuming you haven't changed it from the default, these user ids and passwords can be found in the routers documentation, either printed or online or by using a web search engine. If your router came from your ISP (telephone or cable company) sometimes the admin user and password are printed on a label somewhere on the router.

For more specific instructions, please post the make and model of router you are trying to set up.

Installed Reuter on Apple MacBook and when I try to connect to internet I get a sign in with dsln Ian:80: and asking for user name password. I have used the user name and password supplied but it does not...

Hi, Is this a wireless router? To setup wireless router is first you have to connect directly your router to your computer using the a regular ethernet port not the internet port. Open the web browser and type in at the the address bar the IP address 192.168.1.1 and hit enter. User Id and password will appear. depending the brand of router the user ID and the password will be. The common user ID is admin the password it might be password or admin in lower case. Now you can access the router setting you can configure to whatever setting you like. You can change the router password, access point etc. When you done, connect your modem the internet port and that should work. configure your laptop access point. I hope this information will solve your router problem.

Web-based Configuration?

If you're connected to the router, navigate to http://192.168.0.1/ . If you're trying to configure the router remotely, that's a lot more difficult. You'll have to check your manual for more information on that. (Or I can scour through the manual for you.)

I can not configure the router. I need help

Plug your computer directly into the router. and then go to a web browser (Firefox, internet explorer, or safari) and type in 192.168.1.1, if that doesn't work try 192.168.0.1. It will ask you for user name and password. User name usually is: Admin. Password is either: Admin, Password, or leave the field blank :) Best luck to you :)

You need to access your router's web configuration interface. To do this, you need to connect a computer directly to your router and visit http://192.168.0.1 using any web browser.

When prompted for a credentials:
user name = admin
password = <blank> leave blank

When you successfully access the interface, you can set an admin password so that not everyone can access the administration page.
