Michael, I still think it is a connection problem. Try disconnecting the HDMI and see if you get the video. If no, it is a connection problem. Check the connections carefully.
Hello The jack you describes here "Digital Ouput Device To" means, you can connect these jacks to the output of a digital device, such as DVD or so. It is meant for to get signal into the TV, not ot out. HDMI [High Definition Multimedia Interface] is a type of connection, which the TV an be connected to any HDMI device from outside. Both the above said are, signal in to TV connections. Not out. If you want to connect this TV to any amp or any other external audio devices; look for any audio out option is there.
If your TV has HDMI in and digital optical out, run your HDMI cable via HDMI out on box to, HDMI in on TV then, run digital optical ouyt from TV to digital optical in on reciever. Your reciever has video pass through but, not the best option. Video components should run to TV then out to reciever. If you do not have digital optical out on TV, you may be able to use RCA.
I know this may be a dumb question but I have to ask because even though the cable company has HD boxes a lot of them still dont have HDMI outputs instead they use the 5 Component cable (red, blue, green, for video and white, red for audio). Not only that most of the cable guys are not the brightest in the world I work in an electronics store for 13 years and cant tell you how many times I went to someone house and it was hooked up wrong. Are you stuck on HDMI-1 or can u chnge the channel by using the tv/video button it may say input as well. Check how its hooked up easy to tell 1 cable HDMI, 5 cables -Component. If it is HDMI check the other hdmi input as most LCD tvs have at least 2. same for component it will say component on screen
i have samsung 22' lcd series 4 tv but i connected it with the dvd player via hdmi it shows mode not supported. but the same dvd works very well on another samsung lcd of same configuratition. please help me
Everything I've read on the web says cable box to tv connection must also use component (rgb) cables. The error is coming from the cable box (STB). All the Scientific Atlanta (SA) cable boxes seem have this Digital Rights Management (DRM) bug and the only way to be totally rid of the error is to replace the digital connection from box to the TV with an analog connection.
Using HDMI cable good picture but no audio
