This is a tv my father purchased in 1997, would like to fix it to use in garage. The tv has a thin blue line running horizontally through the center of the screen. The volume and speakers work fine just no picture at all, besides the thin blue line. If you have any idea what the problem could be email me at the included email address. Sound like your Y-Sustain board has one foot in the grave. The Y upper buffer and Y lower buffer boards go when the Y Sus Goes too...

Nothing you can do about that...get used to it or change the TV.
It's a defect in the panel that can't be reliably fixed.

horizontal line suggests vertical amp failure - dry joints, etc.
vertical line is horizontal scan circuit failure - dry joints, component failure - don't run this too long or it will get expensive

This is vertical problem. The tv have a cold solder in vertical ic or ic is bad.

call the repair guy, he will be able to diagnose, prbably a bord problem.
