Line connection The phone should access line 1 or 2 achording to which line button is pressed. When pressing line 2, it connects to line 1, unless line 1 is occupied by an extension. Line 1 is correctly set as the priority out going line for extensions. kind regards.

Sounds like a defect, when you press line two it should stay on line two!!! why would it try to switch to line one and then back to line two if it's busy?

there is no troubleshooting section in the manual, just in case you do not have it here it is:

When i pickup the phone i want the intercom to be my first option not a line out?

One of the following two methods of programming "Preferred Line Assignment-Outgoing" should work depending on which Panasonic phone system your KX-T7433B phone is connected to. Try number one first, if PROGRAM 99 does not get you into station programming, try number 2.

1) Press PROGRAM button then dial 99 to enter station programming. Dial 1, then press INTERCOM button to select Intercom as your Preferred Line Assignment-Outgoing choice. Press AUTODIAL/STORE button to save programming. Press PROGRAM button to end station programming or lifthandset then replace in cradle to end station programming.

2) Press PROGRAM button then dial 19, press AUTODIAL/STORE button. Press INTERCOM button then AUTODIAL/STORE button. Press PROGRAM button to end station programming or lift handset and replace in cradle to end station programming.

Cannot figure out to set answering machine on my vtech, I recevied as gift.

Turn on the answering machine by pressing the on/off button on the base. Set the time and date by pressing the Time/Set button (to the right of the menu button) and pressing Change until the correct day or time is heard. Then press Time/Set again.

To record a message, press Menu until you hear "Set Outgoing Message", then press Record and speak the message (include the mailbox info if you are using them). Press any Play/Stop button to end the message.

Set the various features by pressing Menu to access each one, then press Change to change the setting. Press Time/Set to lock in the change and press Menu to change the next feature. Press a Play/Stop key to leave the menu.

The most important one is "Set Announce Only" to Off for callers to leave a message.

All messages will go into Mailbox 1 unless the caller indicates a different mailbox. Press the Mailbox button to hear new messages if the mailbox has a mix of new and old messages. Press the button a second time to hear all messages. Skip/Quick lets you advance to the next message and Repeat/Slow will let you hear a message again.

Press Vol (up) to adjust the base speaker volume higher during playback.

In the menu, the first option lets you set the two digit security code to access the messages when you call in from another phone. When calling press # followed by 1, 2, or 3 to access the desired mailbox. Press #4 to repeat a message. #5 to skip. Press *0 to end the remote call.

For the full manual, see: http://www.vtechphones.com/vtechphones/index.cfm/support/manuals/ and scroll down to 5866.

I hope this helps.

(all this assumes the base is on (connected to power) and connected to a good phone line. Without power it will not work at all. I test phone lines for dial tone with an old corded phone.)

Fax machine not sending documents

A) Run the fax test on the printer itself to see if it's connected properly and has an active phone line.. HP All-in-one printers still make a dial tone sound even if they aren't connected to a phone line. To run the test 1)..Press the SETUP button. Press the down arrow button until "Tools" is highlighted then pres OK. 2) Press down arrow key again and select "Run Fax test" The printer will then print out the results. It will tell you if anything fails. If it does, the correct the problem it mentions. IF everything passes, then the problem is likely your cable phone line which is a "Digital" and Fax machines still use an analog signal. Here is what you can try to overcome the deficiencies in a cable phone system. 1) Set your fax speed to Medium 2) Turn your ECM (Error correction mode) OFF
To set your fax speed, Press the SETUP button again.. Press your down arrow again until you find "Advanced Fax Settings" and the press OK.. arrow down until you find "Fax Speed" and hit OK. Then choose Medium (14,400) and press OK This will take you to your previous menu (Advanced Fax setings).. Find "ECM Choose OK again.. Then choose OFF and press OK. Press the X button on your printer's control panel and then Retry your fax.. Hope this helps

I can't access my co1 outside line on the KT-x7735

It could be a couple of things. First, press PROGRAM and the CO1 button. If it does not say CO-1, then dial 0 1 STORE and it will.

If it does, you probably altered system programming and that line is now restricted from the phone. That requires Installer system access to the programming from the phone connected to the first jack in the cabinet.

How do I clear all e-mail destinations, when I go to fax I pressed clear al and it doesn't work?? I also do not know how to send a fax, I have the phone line connected but it comes back tx failure???

FIrstly, sending a fax : Make sure you have the telephone cable plugged into the correct socket in the back of the copier. There should be one for "LINE" and another for "PHONE" - make sure you are plugged into LINE. On the display panel go into fax mode (press the fax button) and then press the "monitor" key....you should hear a dial tone...this means your fax line is working. You should be able to just dial the number you want and press the start button..... unless you need to dial a 9 to access an outside line - dial that first. make sure the number you are dialing is valid.
To clear/delete email addresses : I assume you have email addresses setup in the address book and want to delete them?
Press "user functions" on the control panel and press "address" then press "address book" button. highlight the address you want to delete and press delete - then confirm deletion....and its gone!

My intercom button flashed red to green. When I push a line button, I get a two-tone beep but no dial tone. I changed the internal 9 v battery. I unplugged the phone and waited, then plugged it back in....

Each telephone must be connected to line 1 and line 2 for
proper operation. The remaining lines 3 and 4 may — or may not —
be connected to each station as you desire. First plug in the battery, then the phone lines (1 & 2 are mandatory), and third the power cord. If your intercome LED is blinking red and green, then press: STORE IN, followed by "INTERCOM" followed by a free intercom# (i.e., any of the memory buttons 1 through 16 not already assigned to another telephone set). Then wait for the phone to go through its initiation sequence during which it searches each of the four possible lines. After that concludes, you should get dial tone on your active lines. :-) Marco
