Question about Computers & Internet

Flash video Thanks for your quick and helpful reply. I am familiar with web design and have found the xml document with the existing button codes for the videos. My problem is finding that code within the Flash program in order to replace it with my own. Am I being stupid here? If I could open the Flash document (template) in Dreamweaver, I might be able to find it, but this seems impossible. Heeeelllllppp! Many thanks, John

    Hi. Yes thanks, your advice was most helpful. I was able to sort out the problem, as I discovered I could actually edit the "source" file by clicking on "view source", which then opened up a notepad file where I was able to replace their data with my own.

    This is the first time I've used FixYa and I've been really pleased with the help and service I received so a million thanks. I'll definitely use it again if I have a problem and would recommend it to anyone.

    Thanks again

    John

Try this site, John. If I had all the files, I could probably put it together, however, it looks like you are in for a learning experience ( this is a good thing!) There are many sites out there that are tutatorials for dreamweaver.

http://www.adobe.com/support/dreamweaver/templates/dwfw_templates_tutorial/dwfw_templates_tutorial04.html

Just as an experience, put your template together and name it something.html> now make a couple of coopies of it naming them 1 and 2 or whatever.> now you can experiment with the site. try deleting al the flash stuff from the page source. See what happens. And anytime you want you can save the source code to your page as a txt document and you might be able to open that in Dreamweaver. Good Luck.

Can't get most of my attachments to appear

With the Web-based Yahoo! Mail service, you can attach to your email message a saved Web page or another document in HyperText Markup Language format.
When you attach an HTML file in this way, Yahoo! Mail won't display the HTML content of the attached file in the email message body.
To view the attachment, you must click the attachment tab above the email message.Yahoo! Mail and HTML
Yahoo! Mail is a Web-based service and it's fully compatible with the coding languages used to design and display Web content, including HTML and XML, Extensible Markup Language.
This means emails sent or received in Rich text or HTML format include clickable hyperlinks, graphics and other Web design elements.
However, Yahoo! handles emails with HTML attachments in a different way to email messages formatted with HTML.

About Yahoo! Mail Attachments
Like most email programs and online services, Yahoo! Mail offers an attachment feature for adding images, video clips, audio files and HTML document to email messages.
Some email programs display the content of the attached file in the email message body, but Yahoo! Mail doesn't provide this feature for any file attachment, whether it's an image, video clip or HTML document.

Viewing Yahoo! Mail Attachments When you attach an HTML document or another file to your Yahoo! Mail message, an "Attachments" button labeled with a "Paperclip" icon appears below the email address fields and above the email message body.
Clicking the "Attachments" button opens a pane containing a list of all files attached to the email. The email sender or recipient can open each attachment to view the files by clicking the file name.

Considerations

When sending a Yahoo! Mail with an attachment, always explain the content of the attachment in the main body of the email message.
A brief explanation will encourage the recipient to click and open the attachment to view the HTML document.
Bear in mind that many email services automatically block HTML attachments because of the security risk of opening HTML files, which can contain viruses, phishing scams or open Web pages with inappropriate content.
If you want to share a favorite Web page with a friend or contact, include a hyperlink to the Web page rather than a saved copy as an HTML attachment.

Zebradesigner for xml ''error in processing zpf and lvr files''

Somehow, the correct printer driver is not installed when setting up Zebra Designer for XML.

To fix it, clck on "Start->All Programs->Zebra Designer for XML->Add Printer".

A wizard opens, select "Next" and choose the printer you are designing labels for. Click on "Next".

Select "Update existing printer driver(s)". The driver gets updated and voilá!, now you can export your label desgins.

RE : Xerox WorkCentre M128 016-782

Setting up a scanning template using CentreWare Internet Services (CWIS) will fail if the user login name is a domain user, for example, ADSdomain\testadmin.
  1. Open an Internet web browser.
  2. Enter the IP Address of the machine in the Address field, and then press [Enter] on the keyboard. The CWIS home page will be displayed.
  3. Click on the [Services] tab.
  4. Click on the [Job Templates] link.
  5. Click on the [Display Job Templates Screen] button. The Device Template window will be displayed.
  6. Click on the [File Repository Setup] radio button. The File Repository Setup window will be displayed.
  7. Select the required File Repository from the File Repository Setup pull-down menu.
  8. Enter a username that only exists on the SMB server in the Login Name field.
  9. Click on the [Apply] button. A 'Settings have been updated' message will be displayed.
  10. Click on the [Back] button. The File Repository Setup window will be displayed.
  11. Click on the [Template] radio button. The Device Template window will be displayed.
  12. Click on the [Create New] button, and then setup the template again.
  13. Click on the [X] in the upper, right corner to close the Internet browser window and return to the desktop.

ActionScript

If you are making desktop application u need 3rd party flash software like mdm zinc or flashjester jugglor. it provides easy way to write on files. If you are developing web you need to use either php / asp which ever u know. If you know nothing better is doing in php. its easy and powerful. See below for sample php code. to send from flash you have to use sendToURL(request); in AS 3.0

$fileName = $_POST["filename"];

$xmlContents = $_POST["xmlcontents"];

$lastBackslashPos = strpos ($xmlContents, “\\”);
while($lastBackslashPos >0){
$xmlContents = substr($xmlContents,0,$lastBackslashPos)
.substr($xmlContents,$lastBackslashPos+1,strlen($xmlContents));
$lastBackslashPos = strpos ($xmlContents, “\\”);
}
$fh = fopen($fileName, “w”);
fwrite($fh, $xmlContents);
fclose($fh);

Plat swf files sequentionally from xml

I've finished your requirement almost but how do you read the swf files from the xml one by one? My code will parse the xml and open the swf files one by one and so you can only view the last swf file.

var myXML:XML=new XML();
myXML.ignoreWhite=true;
myXML.onLoad=function(success){
    if(success){
        for(var aNode:XMLNode = this.firstChild.firstChild;aNode!=null;aNode=aNode.nextSibling){
            loadMovie(aNode.firstChild.toString(),_root);
        }
    }
}

myXML.load("sampleFiles.xml");

And your sampleFiles.xml should look like this:

<swf>
  <swf1>sample1.swf</swf1>
  <swf2>sample2.swf</swf2>
  <swf3>sample3.swf</swf3>
</swf>
