you can surf the net on a wifi network even of you dont have a data plan. turn the wifi on then select "set up wifi network" then just follow the instructions to be able to connect to the network. if you still can't after doing this, it might be because the signal of the network is not that strong.
regarding the bluetooth, go to media, then press the menu button (the bb logo), then select "receive via bluetooth" for your bb to receive the file from your laptop/other phones.
You will need to wipe the device (wipe handheld in the setting menu) and reload the BB software specifically designed for ATT phones from there website. It is probably finding Cingular because they were merged with ATT. https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/entry.do?code=577BCC914F9E55D5E4E4F82F9F00E7D4
select your BB model and the lateset software version. Press next, then download and install it using the Desktop Manager Application Loader. You should download 4.7 of that too.
you can connect the phone using the usb cable to the laptop/pc/mac that
you are using then open your desktop manager (blackberry).....open
apploader then click on software update and upload the OS back to the
phone this should work..and you should be good to go.
I can't think what may have cause it. I would suggest resetting the phone by turning the handset off removing the battery. Leave for 1 minute and re-insert and turn device on.
Go to networks and allow the device to search networks automatically and turn data service on.
You haven't said which BB you are using or what you have tried already so I'll give you a general answer - if it doesn't help, please let me know and I will suggest something else.
From your computer, go to either your service provider's web site or to www.blackberry.com and find the most recent software for your BB model. Install the software onto your computer. Then connect your BB. Depending on your model, you may automatically be asked if you want to update your BB. If not, find the icon to update your software (you might be able to just sync the BB with your computer but that doesn't always work). Once you have updated your BB software, you should not have any problem adding new applications. Note that some applications can be downloaded directly to your BB; others have to be downloaded to the BB Desktop Manager on your computer and the uploaded to your BB. The application instructions should tell you which way to do it.
This is called the hourglass of death...You need to reload the apps, but Desktop manager wont let you... You need to trick it into a connection
First make sure the BB is unplugged, then go to Program Files > Common
Files >Research In Motion > AppLoader and run
loader.exe.Click next, it will say port : COM PORT
1now is the tricky part you have to plug in the BB and COM 1
will change to PIN: UNKOWN , when this happens you have to quickly click next
before it reboots again, then it will ask for pin and now has an connection with
the device so you can go ahead and re load all the
apps.
What is the security protocol used on the router? Older wireless cards can only connect to WEP secured networks, If the router is using WPA, it will still see a secure network, but cannot connect.
