45 Pint Capacity, Electronic Control - 115 volt Dehumidifier HDN455E - No power

We used our Dehumidifier for less than a year and now it will not turn on. We tried multiple outlets that work with other things plugged into it. I see other posts similar to this one that suggest to send it in to get repaired. I don't think it's in warranty still however. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks - It turned out to be the fuse which was not that hard to get to. It was hard to find a replacement however through local hardware stores/car shops. Had to order it online - found mine via:

ordered a few thinking that it may blow again. Defective unit? Regardless, I'll go with the new fuse rather than purchase a new Dehumidifier for now.

Check the fuse on the board. If the fuse is ok
check Zener Diode ZD2 on the board to see if its shorted.
If it's shorted replace.

Why wont it turn on?

if power is applied then display should show current room humidity , if set is pressed then display should show current set point for desired room humidity , this has to be less than first display otherwise the control will think room has acheeved desired setpoint and shut off , the one of these i had seemd to have an overly sensative collection bucket full sensor and had to be "just right" for unit to run

I have lost my instruction manual and cannot change te temperature and humidity settings. How do you do this?

My dehumidifier does not work at all anymore

I had the same problem with mine. I had it less than 2 years. The compressor seemed to kick on, but no water collected in the pan. the compressor should be covered for 5 years, but unless you have an extended warranty, there will be a service charge.

My dehumidifier was fried during a thunderstorm and nothing worked afterward, and it wasn't running at the time. I just bouught a frigidaire (45 pint) and I love it! no noise!

The dehumidifier runs for a few minutes and then shuts down. The humidity indicator shows that the humidity is 75% high in the room that it sits and I have it set for 40%. I'm thinking that it's a timer...

Where can I find a replacement part for zener diode ZD2 ? The zener diode on the control board is shorted.

Same problem. Replaced it with a 9 volt 1 watt zener and it's good to go!
