During the boot process you will see on the screen to press a certain key to enter setup
Press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS you can load failsafe defaults or load optimized defaults ,press escape then press f10 to save to cmos to restart
or you might try
During the boot process tap the f8 button three times this will boot into safe mode where the only things
working will be your mouse and keyboard enabling you to attempt to repair your computer
hope this helps

My MSI P6NGM-based system stopped working. On

Hi,

Parity is a memory ( Ram problem ) try removing 1 Stick. or changing it into another slot. if you suspect Bios. remove power cable. locate The CMOS Battery. remove for 10-15 seconds, And replace it. this will reset the bios to it,s default settings. you,ll know if your asked on boot-up to run setup to change time/date.

Please exsplain in what sequence the wires are conected to the motherboard for the front display and operating switch

An Installation Manual for you model motherboard is available at the manufacturers website. MSI will have a picture of the pin designations for SPKR, HD LED, PWR LED, RESET, etc. They all vary from year to year and board to board though. Best of luck.

if it does not help to upgrade the drivers
Disable it in the device manager
It also depends how new your current windows is
This failure comes often when you upgrade your bios
and running a old windows.

MSI P6NGM won't BOOT

You should only hear 1 beep. That 1 beep is power on self test, known as P.O.S.T.
That loud flat line sound (And I'm pretty sure about this), was you're CPU. Just because you ran & passed the stressed test is nothing compared to running the system under load? That's why when you put in you other memory nothing changed. If you hadn’t mentioned you clocked up the FSB I would have come to the same conclusion hearing the loud flat line statement.
Can you test the CPU in another board? That is about the only way to be sure it's not the CPU. Memory does not make that kind of sound. Memory makes short & long beeps.
You can try clearing the cmos/bios by going to pg. 2-18 in you're user manual. This will reset the bios back to default settings & cross you're fingers!

If I can be of more service, just post back & let me know how thing go.

Good Luck!

MSI P6NGM Issues

I would put the old ram back in, and then reset the bios by following the instructions in the motherboard manual. (usually with putting a jumper on some pins)
