Camera DSC-T10 doesn't turn on

My camera symptoms are identical to what been descirbed in other posts, I was taking snaps and then when I turned it off and then back on again it stopped responding, I though battery might be out of juice (but earlier battery was showing 100mins left), when I came back home I charged the battery, put it back in the camera, the red light near memory slot blinked, but I wasn't able to turn the camera back on, shutter or button it's not working anymore, nothing happened physically to camera.

Since this is now some twelve years old, it has probably reached the end of its working life.

Might be the wrong rechargable batteries? And don't even try to use regular AAs The camera shuts itself off. You have to use rechargables.

SOURCE: Sony DSC W70 lens stuck!

This is what I found out on this and how I fixed it. This is all relative to my camera. What I found out was the view finder has a small detent which rides in a groove. When droped or bumped it falls out of the groove. To fix this I had to remove the lens assembly and realign the view finder guide. I was a fairly simple procedure.

SOURCE: Camera does not turn on.

I had a similar problem and it was a result of the battery not charging correctly. I bought the travel battery charger and an additional battery from amazon to see if maybe the battery was just old or just not charging. I figured out that the internal camera charging mechanism just wasn't working b/c the battery charged fine with the travel charger. I like the travel charger better and with two batteries I can charge one while the other is in use. I haven't had a problem since. When you buy the new battery you still have to charge it before it's first use. I hope this works for you as it did for me.

Hi
I bought a new 1MB memory card for this camera and was dismayed to find that the screen went completely blank - I couldn't do anything!!!! It was my sons graduation so had to buy another camera!
But, have just resolved this issue by pressing the bottom right-hand side of the screen with a rubber topped pencil - it works!!!!
This camera may be old and chunky but it still takes amazing pictures.
Hope it works for you too.

I cant seem to find setting for time/date stamp?? or did i just missed it??? need the date to be printed on my pic.btw im using DSC T10. wish u could help. thx.

Hello! Welcome to FixYa!
According to the review features of Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T10 Digital Camera, this camera doesn't have a feature for superimposing date/time on images, however you can print images with the date superimposed, So by default u cannot put the time or date stamp on your images, but after taken the images you can manually put the stamp and can print the images.
Don't hesitate to let me know if you want any further assistance.
I hope this solution helps you
Thank you and Keep using FixYa!

The LCD screen is blank (white) on my Sony DSC-T10. I have tried to follow the instructions on resets but this does not affect the display at all.

You have to SEPTEMBER 30th, 2008 to do this!!!!!!

This is a known issue with the cameras. go to:
http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/select-system.pl?PRODTYPE=7&NAVDISP=di

Enter your camera model. Go to:
Important Notice About Your Sony Product

and follow the instructions. Sony will email you a UPS shipping label. Ship the camera back to them at their expense. They will fix it and ship it back to you for free.

Until September 30, 2008, Sony will repair, free of charge, affected products exhibiting the above-mentioned symptom where it is caused by the image sensor device. Sony will also cover the cost of shipping and handling from and to addresses within the United States and US Territories for service to correct this issue.

Broken LCD Screen on Sony Cybershot DSC-T10

Hi there, I now have two Cybershot DSC-T10 with broken LCD's. The best remedy that I have found is buy a parts camera with a good LCD on EBAY. You can get the whole camera for way cheaper than you can buy a new LCD.
