Hotpoint WD860 How do I stop my Hotpoint WD860 leaking from my detergent tray ? Thanks in advance

  • Anonymous Aug 13, 2008

Yes I have the same problem. I think I know the cause as inside the drum one of the drum paddles broke and i had to get a replacement but some small items had gone through the gap where the paddle came off. I thought I had managed to fish everything out but obviously not because after replacing the drum paddle my machine now leaks from the detergent drawer during the last 10 mins of the cycle. There must be something still in there causing a blockage. Does anyone know if it is easy to take the drum out to see what is blocking it.

How to fit Washing Machine Drum Paddle Lifter
For all free video help on appliance Repairs visitour Video Tutorials

Here's our video guide to replacing a washingmachine drum lifter.
A broken agitator paddle can cause your clothesto tear. Don't let this happen when replacing one is relatively simple.
The plastic paddles in the drum on the later washing machines (WMA models) often come looseand come off altogether. They can be replaced. call them lifters. You usually insert a smallscrewdriver down one of the holes (it's the 3rd one on ) and gently press downwhile sliding the lifter out.
Washing trainers in a washing machine is reputedto damage the drum lifters and paddles inside the drum, particularly onnon-quality washing machines.
There are few types of drum lifter; drum Paddle lifters

On hotpoint, creda, Ariston ,indersit and someother makes see video

Water leaking through detergent tray of my Hotpoint WF860

It sounds like the washer is not draining properly.

Remove lower rear cover of washer, locate and remove the large black hose fastened to bottom of tub.
remove plastic filter inside hose, and clean same.
Refit filter and hose, making sure it is on properly.
Be careful when you remove the hose, as there will be water in there.
As an extra precaution, remove soap draw, and thoroughly clean all parts, particularly, the conditioner parts

Flashing f - 05

Error f05 is a problem with the pressure system usually caused by a blockage. These are most commonly found in the pipe which is attached to the bottom of the drum.
Take off the access plate at the back of your machine and you can see it is secured by a large jubilee type clip.
Please be aware that there will be water in this pipe.
Hope this helps & thankyou for using Fixya.

Leaking machine

Could be caused by several reasons.
1- Overfilling, check water level .
2-Blockage in dispenser, or dispenser inlet hose to drum
3-Drawer not in properly.
4-M/c not draining properly, thus when it goes into spin, water could be thrown up by centrifugal force, and come out of the front of the drawer.Check filter.
5-Water pressure very high, forcing water out of drawer, adjust pressure.
Plz rate my soution.
Thanks.

Hotpoint Ultima Washer/Dryer Supersilent....

Check your exit hose spigot, it may be clogged. This is if your filter is all clean. There should be air for passage in the standpipe behind. Your hose should not fit airtight into the standpipe and neither too deep into it. Snaking out your standpipe would be good too.

Rate me pl.....if helped. Click on 'thanks for trying' if not helped, your prob will be back for someone else to solve.
