Canon pixma 400 multifuncxtion Last time I renewed two ink cartridges,yellow and blue, the message came up 'The following ink tank cannot be recognized.'referring to the blue cartridge. I had not received a message saying the blue one was getting low but had received one for the yellow. All other ink tanks are lit up and working.

please remove the cartridge and printer of after smoth cloths is in water and clean the cartridge cerkit and opp sid in cartridge ( onder of printer) please clean and after 10minuts will you chaked.

You might try cleaning or unclogging the print head[s] with a drop of water or two onto the outlet from the print cartridge[s] and a drop of water or two onto the inlet orifice into which the outlet of the cartridge feeds the ink.

I doubt your printer needs recalibrated. If one color is not printing, check the following :

1. Is the suspect ink tank snapped firmly into place?
2. Did you remove the sealing paper pull tab completely off of the tiny air hole on the cartridge? I've had this happen and found the paper or a small part of it to be still in place which prevented the cartridge from working.
3. Try using the maintenance tab on "control panel" "Printers" "properties" and do a cleaning of the print nozzles. Do a "Print test pattern" procedure to see how your progress is working out.
4. If all fails, try another yellow cartridge. It may be defective

try diffrent pixma mp970 may be that defcated

Sounds like you head has gone. JO 

Canon Technical Support team will be able to help here. This seem a common problem with the printer firmware.
