I HAVE A SINGLE HANDLE BELANGER SHOWER FAUCET, INSTALLED AND READY TO GO, PROBLEM IS I CANT GET HOT WATER THROUGH THE FAUCET. I DRILLED A HOLE SO I COULD GET TO THE LIMMITING VALVE AND MADE SURE IT WAS SCREWED ALL THE WAY OUT AND IT WAS. THEN I REMOVED THE HOLE SWITCH TURNED ON THE HOT WATER AND THERE WERE NO RESTRICTIONS THERE. PUT IT ALL BACK TOGETHER AND STILL NO HOT WATER. ANY SUGESTIONS. I'M THINKING THAT THE UNIT IS FAULTY

Check the hot water shut off valve, when the washer fails sometimes the valve itself sticks closed, and sometimes the washer breaks up and clogs water passageways down stream...
To test, pull the hose off of the hot water shut off valve, open the valve and see if you have water flow. (route hose into a bucket, you need more that a small amount of water.....
If you have good water flow from the shut off valve, then you likely have a particle that has lodged in the passageways of the faucet. Reverse flow with air pressure and see what you get out....

I just installed abrand new single handle delta shower faucet and the water does not get hot enough.

Many single-handle shower mixers have a hot limit, usually limiting the throw of the handle. You could go to the mfg's website (www.deltafaucet.com) & find instructions for adjusting it. Or, if you're handy, you could take off the handle & have a look; it shouldn't be too hard to see what's stopping the handle from turning more towards the hot side. Make changes in small increments & remember where you started.

Getting hot water when shower valve is first opened.

If I understand correctly, you have single handled shower faucet.
Normally there is a wait for hot water to arrive at faucet.
But now hot water is already at shower faucet.

Single handled faucets have a mixing area inside valve where hot and cold come together before going into sink.
This mixing valve can have crossover where the hot and cold can pass through to each other even when faucet handle is off. When single handle faucets get old, this can happen.
How it happens:
For example another faucet is turned on inside house, and pressure differential between hot and cold causes hot water at shower handle to pass through mixing area and into cold water line.
So if another faucet has been run, then that lets hot flow to faulty single handled shower faucet.
To confirm this is the problem: turn on other faucet and put ear against shower faucet to listen for moving water.
This condition may also signal there is a water leak.
The problem is not harmful, but will draw cold water into water heater each time, and is energy wasteful.
Replace faucet or have plumber repair problem.

I have Danze, single handle shower faucets that were professionally installed in 2005. One shower faucet has not hot water, just cold and when the handle is turned on all the way to hot, there is an itty...

Replace valve canister- no construction- just remove after taking time to shut off water- a few screws and the job takes 15 minutes. I take for granted you have good water hot/cold to the fixture. This fix will cure most temperature balance problems.
The single lever system is a EZ care system. Note the canister can malfunction faster when exposed to untreated hard water.

were there any thread protectors inside the hot and cold inlets? sometimes they put Styrofoam pieces inside to keep debris out of the inlets and outlets. inspect inside of valve body through inlet holes thoroughly

We have a very old Delta & Single Handle Shower Faucet. The screw in the handle is now stripped since it was so rusted. How can we get the plastic knob off???

you can try drilling a small pilot hole and then use an "easy out" (get'em at any hardware store). or take some large pliers and break the plastic handle and remove the whole cartridge. Go get a new cartridge and handle. Make sure main water valve is shut-off prior do doing so though.
