If you put in more ram than your system is designed for then it's just wasted ram.

if your computers motherboard is 5yrs or older it will not support windows 7
you will need 2 GB of ram minimum to run windows 7

hello aravthebj, yes it can be done. when u need to install OS, first thing u need to know is system requirements, not motherboard specification.
Windows 7 minimum system requirements is: - 1 GHz Processor or higher - 1 GB RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit) - 16 GB available hard disk space (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)
check your processor and your RAM specification, if its fulfill that requirements then u can install Windows 7 on your PC.

check mem some will not work.some brands do not work. use kingston mem i know that works i use that myself.jim

Your RAM needs to be:

DDR2 667, DDR2 533 or DDR2 400 MHz SDRAM DIMMs

Non-ECC DIMMs

2 GB maximum total system memory

Unbuffered, single-sided or double-sided DIMMs with the following restriction: double-sided DIMMs with x16 organization are not supported

Make sure the New RAM is not bad.

Ensure that the new RAM is the same type as your old one (DDR2 XXX)

Install the old one back and make sure that your PC works.

If it does, Take the Old RAM out and install the New RAM in the same slot as the old one.

If the PC does not work with the new one, It is more than likely a bad stick of RAM

This mainboard uses ddr2 ram and has 2 slots. The max ram that can be run is 4 gigs. Thats 2 2gig sticks.
