Lightning? Can it be fixed?

My sons were watching the TV. They heard thunder, then they heard a loud boom come out of the speakers. The TV screen went black and they shut it off. When they turned it back on the sound was fine but the images were sort of double and green and pink/orange. Could it be lightning? Can it be fixed?

Sounds like the convergence ICs and resistors due to the double image. You need two convergence ICs both STK392-110 ICs and the following six resistors. (2) 3.3 ohms 1watt resistors, (2) 1.8 ohm 1watt resistors. (1) 1.8 ohm 1watt resistors. (1) 3.9 ohm1watt resistor. You can get replacemnet ICs and resistors at the following link and they provide free instalation instructions so you can do the repair yourself. Heres the link.

THUNDER 5601 WHEN VEHICLE TURNED ON, SUBS BOOM, THEN WORKS OK. ALSO WHEN RADIO TURNED OFF

If the amp produces no boom with no signal input cables connected, I'd suggest using an LOC.

While watching tv we heard a loud popping sound, then the screen went black.

Good Day, ginabrownb;

When your TV talks to you loudly, it is a really good idea that you call a FACTORY AUTHORIZED SERVICE CENTER.

They can come to your home and give you an estimate, so you can determine if you want "it" fixed.

Good Luck, big IRISH.
