I have a LG 47LH40-ua LCD tv. Today after watching TV for a while the picture started to fade to white. Turned to a different input and it was still faded. Turned the tv off for a while and the picture returned to normal. Any ideas what this could be?

Good day

that problem is many causes its either power supply loose connectors or the worst is the main got partially defects..I give you some tips to fix that any of 3 causes that mention above..

first causes,,the power supply,,its gives the supply of all the system of the unit..when it is not functioning well or the output supply is two low or high.. Also your TV is not function well..
step to troubleshoot;
1) remove the cover by unscrewing of all screw at the back side of your TV
2) check the output voltage such as 5v,24vdc..By power on again and use a multimeter tester range it to DC..if there's a voltage drop..
3) check if there's a leak or bulging top capacitor..if any leak capacitor replace it

like this

Next causes,the loose connectors..

1)reset the all connectors that you see inside your TV by disconnecting it and connecting it again

Next causes is the main board,,there's no easy remedy of that instead of resetting the power such as off/on

thank you and good luck

Our brand new LG TV loses brightness whilst you are watching a programme.

Check to make sure that eco mode is turned off. It will sense the ambient lighting and if it is bright, the TV will be bright so if you are seeing the brightness change...check that setting first.

I have an LG 42LH30-UA LCD. Using the HDMI there is a delay between picture and audio. Doesnt make a difference what HDMI cable I use or what source(PS3, Cable, or Surround). Any ideas?

If you are in Canada, call LG and they will send a service tech to apply a firmware update to your tv and input some codes. Apparently they used to send you a usb flash drive to do the update, but some degree of technical skill is involved so they now send a local tv tech.

This sounds like the power supply that feeds your back-light is going out. This repair should be done by a qualified technician

Lg 32lc2r, only showing picture in black and white

Make sure that the color control level is set to the default or 50% to start with. This should be in the Video menu.

The colour for the tuner and for the encoded base-band video uses a circuit area called the colour demodulator. It is possible that this cirucuit area has failed and needs servicing.
