I just got a sylvania SMPK8854 mp3 player and i installed the avi converter, but cannot find how to put music on player. so confused!

  • Anonymous Dec 25, 2008

I just got one today and have the same problem. The user's manual is absolutely ridiculously useless. I've been on hold with the number from the user's manual they tell you to call for product information, and have been on hold for over 15 minutes. I am so frustrated. Apparently we're not the only ones having trouble with Sylvania, because the lines are all apparently very busy.

    SOOOOOO FRUSTRATED

YAY!!! I just got off the phone with the tech guys for the company. this is what they told me:

plug the device into the computer via the USB chord (duh)

Go to the F drive and you should see two folders... FM and VOICE.

create a new folder and label it MUSIC

move your mp3 files from whatever folders you currently have them in and put them into the music folder you created.

:)

now if i can just figure out how to put my music in MP3 format...

Do you know what type of video can be played on the Sylvania SMPK8854B and where can I get a program to convert it to that type?

Check the specification of your MP3 player to determine thetype of video file format it uses. Most common video files that MP3 players use are, AVI andWMV, there may be others such as FLV, MOV and DivX. If your player cannot play a video then it is anincompatible video file format, then you need to convert that video file to aformat that your MP3 player uses. You have to convert your videos to an AVI file that is compatible with your music player. Try downloading FREE VIDEO CONVERTER.

Can't figure out how to play videos on my mp3 player???

To copy movies, they have to be converted to avi, even if they are avi already, there is an avi converter
On the cd that came with your player, you can also download the driver cd from curtisint.com if you don’t have the cd.
other converters will work if you have the correct settings.

You can’t just copy or drag a movie to the player unless it has been converted first, convert it to a destination on your computer, it will convert faster.
Don’t select your player as the destination when converting movies/videos, convert then copy to player.

Unable to load videos

You could try Wondershare Video Converter Platinum, it could help you switch your videos to different formats between all popular Video formats ( AVI, MKV, MP4, WMV, FLV, MPEG etc.) that support all popular portable media players (such as Zune/Zune HD, iPod/iPhone and PSP) and the latest iPod Nano 5G, iPod Touch 3, iPhone 3GS/OS 3.1.

How do you load movie on to the sylvania 4gb mp3 player

This is often a problem among mp4's but the solution however is simple.

The movie needs to be in AVI format, of course, but there is also the hassle of having the right resolution.

Depending on the size of the screen determines the maximum resolution, if the max is peak, then the video becomes unplayable.

Your mp4 settings are as follows.... 2.8-Inch TFT 260K True Color 320x240 Pixels

This means that when you are converting your avi movie, make sure that the resolution is set to 320x240 for maximum viewing and quality.

Hope this fixya up <(^_^)>
