Bosch SHU43C installed in 2003

Our Bosch dishwasher no longer fills with water. The electronics seem to be working fine & the motor runs when started, but no water fills up. Should I be looking for a blockage on some sort of intake filer, or look for a non-functioning solenoid on a valve? If you suggest either one of these, can you tell me where to find them in the machine?

Thanks,
Jeff

My Bosch SHU43C had the same exact problem. I found the below solution on this site. Perhaps you already seen it.

My SHU43C is just over 3 years old. I had a similar problem recently. First, there were a few floods. Then, the Bosch only drained non-stop. Even when I used the Cancel Drain buttons the drain pump would run without stopping. When I tried to run one of the cleaning cycles, no water entered the machine. Corrective: I removed the base plate, and saw that the red plastic floatation device was in the up position. Using a flashlight and a wooden spoon, I lightly toggled the red float stem down. I pushed regular clean cycle and kept toggling with the red float stem until the rinse water started to enter the machine (turning the red stem seems to also actuate a step in the program). Now the dishwasher runs normally. Voila!

Bosch Dishwasher won't fill with water

Certainly *sounds* like the float is stuck in the over filled position
or possible a bad float switch, if the float is stuck in the up or full position, the d/w will not fill with water and the drain motor will often run all the time

My Bosch SHU43C will sometimes make a loud noise

It may be more cost affective to just replace this unit. the circulation motors that are used in these dishwashers are not reliable. the wash impellers seems to have issues dealing with staying attached to the drive stud and shaft. this will cause the impeller ti shift inside the housing, causing noise and jams.

A new circulating impeller kit will cost about 100 dollars and, labor for this type of repair is 80 dollars an hour.

Bosh shu43c never stops running.

If you have a Bosch shu4300...check this site.

http://fixitnow.com/wp/2006/06/09/bosch-dishwasher-takes-forever-to-complete-a-cycle/

My issue was a heater fault and fixed the problem by resoldering a bad joint. Works fine once this was fixed.

Bosch SHU43C Dishwasher

Is there no water coming in( hear no water at all) or no water NOT staying in ( drain motor running) ... the float switch is a safety to keep the dishwasher from flooding ...turns on the drain motor as soon as the door is closed..

I could check the control and see if you have power to the water valve.. maybe a control problem if no power..

Bought the display unit and water will not work.

hi there the low humming noise that you are getting sounds like the fill valve, this could be due to you perhaps not turning the water back on after fitting the new dishwasher or the fill hose being kinked when the dishwasher was put back ,hope this is of some help to you.

Dishwasher will not fill with water

without a brand or model number its hard to be sure, but some types have a float cut out switch inside the washer. Its on the bottom inside and kind of resembles a plastic mushroom. The top should lift up and down easily. detergent will clog it up and keep it from moving. Just clean all the soap caked on it and move it up and down to see it it pushes a little switch underneath.
