You can download the latest Internet Explorer from Microsoft's website.(http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/internet-explorer/products/ie/home)

You can only upgrade to Internet Explorer 8 unless you have Windows 7 as your operating system.
Personally, I would suggest using a different browser such as Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome. Both of these browsers are more secure and faster than Internet Explorer and should allow you to chat on Facebook. Here are the respective links:
Firefox: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/new/
Chrome: http://www.google.com/chrome/intl/en/landing_chrome.html?hl=en
I hope this helps!

Blank screen in face book and unable to log out

Sometimes the problem is with your browser, not your Facebook Account. There are two ways you can try and fix the issue:
  1. Upgrade your Internet Browser to make sure it is compatible with any updates Facebook may have made (examples of browsers are Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari, etc.).
  2. Clear your cache and cookies. Your Internet browser may be "Remembering" the white screen to help the page load faster. Browsers store website information for this reason.

My facebook chat is not working, what should I do?

I believe it is just offline, just click on the CHAT OFFLINE and it will bring back automatically to online. If not, try to use other internet browser like firefox, chrome or internet explorer 8 or 9. Regards

When i try to open facebook said problem in loading page .but i can open other browser.

If you have older browsers like Internet Explorer 6 or 7 - they will quite often show errors while opening. You can try to upgrade to Internet Explorer 8 (for Windows XP) or Internet Explorer 9 (Windows Vista and Windows 7).
Opera browser strictly follow standards and sometimes doesn't support non-standard web applications.
Therefore I would recommend to use either Google Chrome or Firefox 4 as your default browser. As for the above mentioned browsers - Opera and Internet Explorer there are no easy solutions for now.

When i chat on fb its start freezing why?

The problem is with the facebook chat, it can slowdown your browser when used for a long time.
If you are using Internet Explorer, try downloading the newer version: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/internet-explorer/default.aspx
Or, try out a different browser, Firefox or Google Chrome.

If that doesn't help, try upgrading the RAM on your computer.

I can log onto yahoo mail, and i try to log onto chat from there and it will say its loading then wont sign in and says offline. Im confused on what to do.

Chat in Yahoo! Mail is only available with the following browsers:
-Internet Explorer version 6.0 and newer
-Firefox versions 2.0 and newer
-Safari version 3.0 and newer

If you are using an older browser version, please upgrade your browser to one of these supported versions.

To chat in Yahoo! Mail, you'll need Adobe Flash Player 9.0.115 (or higher). In case you need a newer version, you can download and install the latest Flash Player here for free.

Also, note that you can't be logged in in both Mail and Messenger with the same ID to chat. Hope this solves your problem, if not post back.

My facebook chat has completely disappeared. There is not even a button to open it. How can I get it back? I have a MAC and use Safari.

If the Chat menu does not expand when you click on it, please restart your browser and try again. If you are using an old browser such as Internet Explorer 6, you will need to upgrade your browser to be able to see the Chat menu. If you continue to have problems, please submit a report here.

Chat does not work on face book how do I enable it

If you are experiencing problems with Facebook Chat, you may need to upgrade your browser.

If you’re using Internet Explorer 6.0, you can still use chat by popping out the chat window. Just click the Chat button near the top right of any page on Facebook to start chatting. If this answer helped you please rate this answer

My Facebook chat window freezes up when someone responds to me

Try Using Different Browsers other then IE explorer 8 or below, they have problems working with new chat windows and stuff that it don't really recognize. For instance try firefox, opera, google chrome, safari 4

One of these would have to work with facebook, if not make sure you have enough RAM space to even run anything other then browser sometimes a slow machine can just freeze from working it self to hard.

Facebook chat not workin

Hi

I think it's a javascript related problem. You should be up and running in a few minutes if you follow these 2 little solutions. As I am not sure how much you know about computers I will provide you with a practical solution. You should make sure that you get your browser clean before moving on to something else (therefore right click on the icon choose properties>> delete all cache and stuff from the internet options)

1. An easy way out to solve this should be to download another browser DIFFERENT from what you've got. If you use it on internet explorer then download mozilla firefox and it should work fine.

2. You may optionally try this. The EASIEST way out should be to uninstall internet explorer and reinstall this should get you up and running. First download the new browser (IE 8 is quite good), and if just an upgrade is available dont worry save it to desktop. Now go to control panel choose add/remove programs or uninstall a windows feature in case of vista uninstall internet explorer and reinstall it from the prgram you had saved on the desktop.

hope this fixya helped you :)

Happy chatting :)
