No sound in television

I have a new Trutech television. Purchased March 2008. Three days ago the sound went out. Great picture, no sound. 19 inch model T2000D S/N J07F02650. Manufactured October2007. Help!

  • vfranks Aug 07, 2008

This television does not have a sound input on the menu. It only has picture and Language.

  • vfranks Aug 09, 2008

I think I got a lemon t.v. One store clerk responded Uh-oh. The store will not take the television back and to make matters worse.the television does not indicate who is the manufacturer so they can't help.

Did u try unplugging your tv for a couple of hours? that MIGHT help. if not, you can always try plugging in a stereo to the tv to see if it works with the tv. if it does, then you just have some bad speakers or a bad connection to the speakers.

When this happens, are you trying to watch videos from your cable, your DVD or what ever input you use, has the same result. so that we will be able to isolate if it is your speaker connection, or a digital module issue or a loose connection issue.

if you are able to open the unit up, try to check if the built in speakers are soldered.

Possibly you inadvertantly changed the sound setting on the remote, but I'm sure you have tried turning the volumne up and hitting the mute button already.

I would return the set immediately, if you have tried all the obvious things. You have a few days when you can return the set to the seller for an exchange.

Where did you purchase the TV? It is made by DaeWoo in Korea. I would take the TV packed neatly back in the box, along with the receipt back to the store where you purchased it and go to customer service and tell them you want your money back. If they refuse, I would speak calmly, but in a voice that could be heard by other customers and ask them exactly what you are supposed to do, when you buy a product from them ( Made in Korea) and it doesn't work. Don't they back up their products? I would be calm and reasonable, but I would not take no for an answer just like that! If they refuse to give you credit or your money back, ask to speak to the manager. Don't go into a private office, stay out in the open where other people can hear. This encourages them to try and make a happy customer out of you. If all else fails, ask them to call the manufacturer for you, or their supplier of the TV and ask THEM what you should do. Don't leave the store without getting some help. Just wait until someone helps you.I'm not encouraging a standoff, I am encouraging you to give them truthful information, a receipt for the item and clear understanding of your expectations of them as a retail store. I don't know what state you live in, but most states have laws that you have so many days to return a defective item directly to the store where you purchased it, so this is something you need to check immediately. You can go online and google for your state laws regarding returning retail lemon items, etc. Take this info with you when you go to the store, but time is of the essence. Most importantly, DO NOT display an angry attitude, but a reasonable one. Good Luck!

FYI Here is the companys website for electronics where you can contact them. If you do this, explain to them that the store will NOT help you(give them details of what you have tried with the store) and send copies of your receipt and ask them what to do. When you go to the store , also, do not give them your original reciepts take copies along with you. Did you receive a warranty card with the TV? If so, if you havent registered it, do so now.

Go to your menu.
go to sound or audio. look for any audio output options and disable them.

Does your audio go out while you watch antenna tv or when you watch a dvd/game?

Yellow?

The official website for this item is http://1800customersupport.com/trutech. Try emailing them, or call them at 1-888-252-6252. Trutech is the store brand for Target stores, so many different companies make their products. This website isn't the official site for ALL Trutech products, just some of them, like this 19" LCD TV/DVD combo.
