Question about Computers & Internet
If you refer to connecting to your computer remotely & fix a problem, then for now, I would recommend signing up to freelancer.com & posting a description of what you need done. You will be able to select from the many experts who will bid on your project to do the job for you, & you will be able to get the lowest possible price.

Unfortunately, Fixya currently does not offer this kind of service, but could be offering it in the future. I cannot confirm this, though.
An alternative might be to open a chat session on Fixya & agree with the Fixya expert on a way of providing him/her secure access to your system which needs to be fixed.

Hi, thanks for replying! That sounds a bit risky, how would you know if the person would have the skills. Who accepts responsibility? Does fixya offer this service? Yes, I am referring to somebody who connects to your computer remotely. I didn't realize that it was possible until recently when we had problems with our computer security software supplier, before and after a blue screen crash. A friend of ours had to uninstall and reinstall windows xp due to a bad security update which caused the cpu to run at 100%. When our computer was back up and running again, we had another problem with our security supplier which they fixed by remote access. They said that they would fix other problems for a yearly fee of $190 which is a bit out of our budget. We do have some recurring problems Bonjour is havng problems again and our computer is starting to run very slow and some programs will not close without going ctrl/alt/delete. These problems are bearable and not serious yet. I have not got enough skills and knowledge to properly fix these issues without a lot of assistance and patience on behalf of the person on the other end of the line! Thanks for your time.
P.S. we have purchased CA pc tune up and AVG pc tune up, both of these seem to help at times and both work different to each other from what I can see.!
Hi again, So is it possible in a chat session for the expert to remotely control our computer (with our permission, obviously)? I would trust you guys more than someone unknown or our security provider who wanted to charge us $190 to fix some problems that they claimed were harmful to us ( which I have closely looked at myself and found out that it was our computer registering error messages because it could not connect to the internet straight away, until we initiated our mobile wireless modem.) $190 for one computer for one year is not that bad but not at the moment for us! I might not be a guru but sometimes things are obvious to even an amateur. Thanks again. Darryl
Thank you once again, I hope I can ask a couple more questions to clarify and help me get a clear picture of what is available. Remote access may be a faster way of getting a result for me and the poor person who takes on my problem. I don't spend much time on the computer because not much time is available to me. Most of my fixya encounters have gone on for days due to me! Thank you for your straight forward answer.
