I just installed a hp psc 1210 all in one printer & scanner and all it does is print and it is labeled 1200 printer. In the control panel. there is no mention of a scanner.
I presume you used the software disc which came with your printer. If so I would suggest that you go out to hp.com support and check for updated downloads for your machine. Once they are installed you should have it solved. The scanner requires extra software in addition to the printer stuff.
