Can I refreeze ground beef?

It is done all the time, but it is never as good tasting, sometime has a slight freezer burn taste(SLIGHT). Still very good in spaghetti sauce, chili, etc. Just not as good for hamburgers and plainer meat loafs.

Too much pepper in soup recipe What do I use too try adjusting?

Less pepper?? Cut the pepper out altogether and add when eating. Pepper is a matter of choice and will not spoil the recipe if left out.

Some recipes should not be cut in half. I would make the whole recipe and freeze the leftovers.

Have lost instruction book, how do I use it?

What sort is it? I have a Sunbeam - I just throw in all the ingredients for say, a casserole, in the morning before work. Leave it on low heat setting, ensuring that I have a tin of tomatoes or a mug of beef or chicken stock to keep everything moist, put the lid on and about 7 hours later hey presto! The meal is ready. No real preparation , I just use a normal meal recipe, and ensure i have enough moisture for the cooking as I would in the oven.

Searching for pasta sauce recipe

Barbara....I understand -- I panicked to day when I couldn't find my CROCK-POT recipe book for my Chicken Cacciatore recipe. I think I have that same recipe book -- my CROCK-POT is avocado green. Tthere are two recipes for spaghetti, but I'm assuming that you want the "Italian Meat Sauce" recipe. If not, let me know and I'll send the other one.

Crock Pot Italian Meat Sauce

1 cup chopped onions
1 – 1 ½ pounds ground chuck, browned
2 cloves garlic
1 large can tomatoes (28 oz)
1 6-oz can tomato paste
2 stalks celery with tops, chopped
2 teaspoons salt
3 teaspoons dried oregano
¼ teaspoon dried thyme
1 bay leaf
Put all ingredients in CROCK-POT. Stir thoroughly. Cover and cook on Low for 10 to 12 hours. (High: 3 to 5 hours).
