All Keys Beep

I inadvertently hit a combo of keys while typing. Now the typewriter makes a beeping noise at EVERY keystroke. How do I undo this?

  • lisa_halbig Oct 07, 2008

I got an error message 101 88, with what looks like an e-mail icon on the lower left corner of the display. What does this mean. It just keeps beeping with every keystroke, and not typing anything.

The keys seem to have froze up. I can't type at all, none of the keys work. The buttons beep at me instead of typing.

There is a very good chance that there are broken wires in the harness going to the print head. You'll need a tech.

When turning the typewriter on it goes beep beep and when pressing the keys it will not type

Re install the printeheel, check forv debris in that area, check to be sure no keys are stuck down. Put some WD40 on the silver shaft that the carrier slides on.

Writer beeps w/keystroke and does not type.

You are probably in a format mode that was set up for 12 piych printwheel. Install a 12 pitch pwintwheel or exit the format mode.

Toshiba Laptop Keyboard problem

My Toshiba Satellite A45 S120 keyboard has a problem, some of the keys are not working. When you type it does noting. Sometimes when you start the computer, it continuously types the letter eeeeeeee. You can hit some keys randomly and this will stop, but if you start a program (eg. ms word) the same thing happens.

Beeping sound when powering unit on

Have you simply pushed the carriage back to the middle? If it is like the ML100 (it looks the same) you can just push it over ...with the pwoer off. Then put in you new ribbon. And this time, when you turn it on, it is the new ribbon that hits a switch on the underside of the keyboard, located to the upper left. If you do not have a ribbon installed, it will travel all the way to the left, and beep, beep, beep, beep. ,,,, The switch is hit with the ribbon housing.
