Next, press TAX+, then enter the new or current tax rate.
Enter the
rate for a single digit tax rate such as 5% as 5, a single number; if
you have a fractional percentage rate, such as 5.75%, enter it just that
way: the 5, then a decimal and followed by 7& 5.
FINALLY figured out how to change the tax rate! Press AC. Press and hold the Rate Set (%) button UNTIL THE CURRENT TAX RATE IS DISPLAYED. Enter the new rate you want (such as 7.5). Press the Rate Set (%) button again.
Press the [ac] button, then press and hold the [tax+] button for a second or two. Then enter the tax rate you want as a percentage. You would enter 8.25% sales tax as 8.25 for instance. Then press the [%] key to set the rate. Notice that printed above the [tax+] button is "tax rate" and above the [%] key is "rate set" as a reminder of which key to press.
Hold "set" key until "set exch" appears. Then hit "tax+" key and enter in correct amount. After amount set then hit "set" key once again to complete set up.
To change the tax rate, first press AC. Then press SET % for 2 seconds. Next, press TAX+, then enter the new or current tax rate. Enter the rate for a single digit tax rate such as 5% as 5, a single number; if you have a fractional percentage rate, such as 5.75%, enter it just that way: the 5, then a decimal and followed by 7& 5. Then press SET % again and you're done! I just did it on two of the calculators and it works. Hope this helps!
1. Switch off the calculator
2. Switch it on again
3. Press and hold the tax button (set %) until the display changes
4. Enter the new tax rate
5. Press the tax button (tax +)
