Question about Washing Machines
It shakes badly during spin cycle. Even if there are no clothes in the machine. When empty and you turn it by hand it makes a thumping noise at the same spot. I checked to make sure it is level and it is.
There is the tub that spins on
the bearing the " the active tub"(the one the clothes go in obviously)
and around that tub is the "stationary tub", between the two are what
they call "snubs" these are either rubber wheels, bushings or on
cheaper models just a rubber boot that works as a shock absorber if you
will, and keeps the movement of the the "active tub" with in its axis.
If a wheel is broken, or a bushing/boot is torn or broken then there
lies your problem.
I hope this helps.

If your washing machine shakes violently or if there's a loud thumping noise during the spin cycle, the load of clothes has probably gotten unbalanced. Open the lid, redistribute the clothes in the washer, then re-start it. Repeat these steps if necessary.
