I have a vizio vw32l40a tv and cannot set closed captions. What do I do??

Is this in the settings section of the TV menu? There are different types of closed captions example: CC1 CC2... there has been a few times I've had to change it up because one of the ones selected was not working. Hope this helps.

CC (Closed Caption)

To select the options in the CC sub-menu, press the MENU button or the #

button. A new menu will be displayed showing the following CC settings:

CC

The CC feature is available when watching regular analog (NTSC) TV.

Select from CC1, CC2, CC3 or CC4. Closed Caption for regular TV is

usually CC1 or CC2.

Digital CC Style

The Digital CC Style feature is available when watching digital TV.

Select either As Broadcaster or Custom. If Custom is selected then
you can customize the way Closed Caption is displayed.

for on the computer, it has C.C on TV

The remote control for your Vizio TV probably has a Closed Caption button. Is there a button with CC printed on it? If so, that is most likely the button to press for Closed Captioning.

Just press the CC button on the remote. Some TV stations may not send out CC data. Pressing the CC button many times will cycle thru all the options including OFF.

Press the > button. A separate menu will appear with the following CC

6/09 I had the same problem when receiving the signal over the air with the input set to TV. Perhaps the signal strength or type was varying. At any rate, after I hooked up HD cable and watch from that input, the problem no longer occurs.

Go to Setup using your menu button and navigate to "Setup". That's where the "Closed Caption" settings are manipulated on my Vizio.
