We have just bought a house in Canberra with a Honeywell Thermostat to operate gas central heating system. There is no manual and we do not know how to programme it. I would guess that it is about 10 years old (beige, rectangular shape with digital screen). There is no model no. on it anywhere. Can you refer us to an instruction manual we could use please.

I have put many of those in and yes, they are hard to program compared to the new ones. You will probably not find any instructions unless you go on line to honeywell and ask. Otherwise it may be worth your time and less head ache to just go get a new thermostat even the ones at Home Depot are a lot easier.

Honeywell thermostat blows cold air on heat

Thermostats don't actually blow anything, the heating system might though. Check the breakers for your heat system, then call a heating specialist. They're really not that expensive.

Replacing WHITE-RODGERS manual thermostat with 3 wires ( red, white, blue and installing Honeywell electronic thermostat RTH110B, how do I connect it? The heating is not central, baseboard heating.

I have only seen one Honeywell thermostat that would work with a 3-wire heating system.

I would replace it with a White-Rodgers 1F80-0471. They are about $100, but they are a good thermostat, and they work well with the 3-wire zone valves.

Most other thermostats have the "Y" terminal that you need, but do not control the zone valve correctly.

St6400c thermostat wont run the central heating independantly

This does not sound like a thermostat problem. I would be looking for a zone valve or circulator pump problem.

Forced Hot Air Heating system doesn't maintain thermostat setting

It sounds like you may have issues with the furnace. A qualified professional can go over the system and the house to let you know if the system and unit are properly sized. The poor performance of a furnace can be a sign of carbon buildup in the furnace.
Good luck, hope this helps.
