You wil need to connect using a DVI to HDMI cable. You can get one for about 5$
http://www.amazon.com/DVI-HDMI-Cable-6ft-Male-Male/dp/B0002CZHN6
Just connect it and choose the HDMI input its plugged into(1/2/3). If there is nothing on the screen adjust the display resolution on your computer. If you are using 1080i then the resolution should 1920x1080

Usually the resolution will be auto-detected. If it is not just keep adjusting the resolution on the laptop/computer till you get a picture on the screen.

LG model 47LN5700-UH LED TV. There is a single thin vertical line on the screen. I have changed the LED/Power Supply board and LED strips. What might be causing the vertical line?

You have wasted your time and money. The LED power supply and LED strips are only the backlighting. The only thing that might fix is a situation where you have a blank screen with the sound working.

If you don't know what you're doing, DON'T OPEN THE TV UP TO FIX IT, THERE ARE HAZARDOUS VOLTAGES ON THE POWER SUPPLY BOARD, EVEN WEEKS AFTER THE TV IS UNPLUGGED!

If you don't know how to do it yourself, find some local Electronic repair shops, get quotes, try to find reviews on the shops.

My lg47lcd5500 tv went dead no picture no sound

Fault with the main power supply regulator board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts.

It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time.

I just purchased a LG LE5500 55" TV. When using my accoustic research wireless speakers it creates an echo effect. The Geek Squad said there was nothing I could do to prevent this echo. Is there a way of...

try different ways of sending the audio to the speakers. you can go digital out from the tv into your receiver or go directly from your cable/satellite box into your receiver. I use both...from the tv for netcast and from the box for all others. assuming you are going through a receiver
