    Hello fsmten,

I received instructions from a good expert at this site named sharcnet. This individual sent me detailed instructions and I would ask that you attempt to contact him/her via this site first. Search the site and you'll find him.

I should say that although I am quite capable of tearing most anything apart and fixing it, I found a repair service that would fix it for a price that I thought was reasonable. I can not recommend this repair location any higher. They are most excellent in every way. I had the on/off switch circuit board repair done, the battery replaced, the case replaced, and the screen replaced. What does that leave? Not much but the main board. Wow. It looks and runs like a new unit. You can attempt the repair yourself, but based on my experience, this place is worth the price. Guy named Mel at the service is the best. I now live in the UK and the service is in the UK, so some mail costs may be involved if your somewhere else. Here's the link. Tell Mel that Al sent you (I have no association with this place other than a true appreciation for getting what I payed for and getting my Nuvi back to life).

If you can't get a response from sharcnet at this FixYa site and choose not to have MGA Imports fix it - and still wish to do the fix yourself, get back to me. I do have disassembly instructions.

First look to see if the printer itself is actually blocked up, if this is the case it is an easy repair job, if it's not blocked up, I would advise you to change the drum unit.

Display screen

I don't think that you can do it.Even if you can open the case inside there are many sensitive parts which can easily damage. And at the same time you need spares-parts to replace which will be bought from stores. If you buy the lcd and the problem is the Display ic, LCD is no needed for you.So, my advise is to visit nearest mobile repairing shop before it damage further. Thanks for visiting fixya

Bricleting watch, the second hand cathes off the

The mechanism needs to be removed from the case and the fingers gently moved appart.

Unless you are an experienced watch repairer, I would advise you to take it to one for repair.

(Sometimes opening and closing a watch case can itself be more difficult than the repair you need. It is safer not to try it yourself.)

Hi there, my pro-sd 120 rfh has stopped winding on film. the lever just spins freely with no resistance. I am wary about opening it up in case any tiny springs go walkabout. can anyone advise me, or even...

Sounds like the film has come loose. Either it's not properly loaded or it has cut. Try to open the camera in a dark room and feel your way thru the inside of the film track to assure the situation.

I need to replace the keyboard on an MX6440 laptop - how do I get the computer open? I dont' want to just start prying things. Is there a repair manual online?

There is no 100 percent true way of telling you online how to get this computer open I would advise if all the scews are out of the thing on the bottom then you need a plastic wedge to help the case open its latches.

Sometimes a little prying is in order but not with metal use a plastc wedge. When in doubt let a expert do it for you.

The tray to my DVD player would not open. It says

Hi there! First of all, what is the brand name of the DVD Player? Don't know what advise you got but here are a few suggestions. The most common would be the little black rubber belt may have snapped or is worn out. This will result in total mechanical failure. The tray opens and closes and the the mech inside also needs to lift to bring the eye to the disc to start reading. If this motion inside does not occur when the tray is closed it can say " bad disc" or "blocked".It may also be a processing fault which in most cases will not be economical to repair. My advise is to first check the belt. Depending on the value of your machine it may be worth referring to a repairer. Regards and good luck, JUS004.

I put a memory card which ws the wrong size and it disappeared. Doe anyone have a solution? If you do please send me an e-mail at [email protected] thanks Will Peters

I highly advise not to forcedly take it out of the frame as it may damage some parts of the frame.

Your frame will be repaired per warranty guidelines. A product is warranted for 1 year from the date-of-purchase. For an In-Warranty repair, a “Proof-of-Purchase” is required. If the repair center finds any customer induced damaged, the warranty will be voided and you will receive a notification from the repair center in such cases.

Process the repair at we highly advise not to forcedly take it out of the frame as it may damage some parts of the frame.

You are advised to take it in to an authorised technician for repair. Never open the case unless you are qualified and certified.

Panasonic DV mini camcorder error message

Inside is a sensor that detects moisture. If there is dew inside the unit, the tape will adhere to the head and create all kinds of problems. This sensor is there to to prevent problems. That being said, the repair for this could be as simple as ejecting the tape leaving the unit open and letting it dry out. It could also be a bad sensor. In the case of the sensor, the parts cost would be in the $10-$20 range. Add in the local labor rate ($175 here in Mass) and you have the total repair cost. While this is not the easiest repair because of its size, anyone that works on camcorders will find it straightforward.
