Panasonic lcd tv model no. tx-26lmd70. since switchover day 6/4/11 i have not been able to receive bbc1, bbc2, bbc3 channels auto tuned 3 times a day to no avail. panasonic helpline is jammed with other callers. all other digi tvs in house retuned ok including another panasonic. please advise . thank you.

You might have more than one transmitter. Some TV's etc only store a certain number of channels and have a max amount!. When weaker transmitters are present sometimes the memory of the TV will only store the stronger signals first from these weaker sites, with the two BBC channels being too weak to be detected.
The solution is to do a manual search on the transmitters you know are very strong. For example if channel 43 has strong signal you would search on that. The auto search will start at 21 and work it's way to 69. But if your area transmitter with the strongest signals is high up the scale the weaker transmitters will be selected first!

So you think I'm gonna answer my own question then tell you how I did it, so that you can then CHARGE someone else for MY answer?! I don't think so! An excellent 'service' you have here - I DON'T think.

sounds like power surge. try unplugging unit from wall. wait 2 minutes. this reset the microprocessor in the tv. plug back in and enjoy!

Make sure all cables are securely connected to your Freeview Box or Freeview TV before you begin

Do a Factory Reset of your Freeview TV and then do a rescan of new channels. If successfull then all channels should be back and working.

It is a software problem with the television. I found the answer on the internet. I have contacted Panasonic for an upgrade of the software.

If you have all the cahnnels updated then you will have to manually edit the station list and change the order of the channels. refer to your manual for instructions.

I also have the Sony IDTV KD-28DX4OU Digital TV.After the digital switchover I lost BBC1 and BBC2 despite retuning three times.
I contacted Digital switchover people (useless) and they passed the buck to Sony.I contacted Sony and they said they cannot fix the problem and that I should get a digital set top box. So the £650 I spent on integrated Digital TV has been wasted.If like me your cheesed off with this then I suggest you complain here

I have solved the problem by selecting Manual Tune in the Menu. This means selecting each channel one at a time beginning at 21. The indicator shows the Signal Strength and Quality for each channel. If both show a green bar (strong on both counts) give it time to identify the new programs on each channel and add them. It will show how many found and added if you wait a few minutes. When each channel is done, move on to the next one. The last channel is 65 I believe but there is not much up the top end.
When I had finished going through this routine I found it had indeed added all channels I needed including BBC1 and BBC2

I have contacted Panasonic, they are aware of the problem and will post you an update card to correct the fault.

I have the same box and re-tuned mine with the same results as you.However i discovered that the NEW BBC channels were on the channel guide list starting at channel 800
