Check that the thread is tight around the bobbin. Make sure that the bobbin is in the right way around - the bobbin thread should double back on itself coming out of the bobbin holder. The bobbin tension adjustment is the small screw in the plate on the bobbin case that the thread passes under as it comes off the bobbin and goes out.

the tension at bobbin seems to be the problem, make sure bobbin thread is in placed in bobbin CORRECTLY...then it should not be loose but loose enough to pull out with the slightest pull, top tension should be set on around 4,,,,,

Hi. Correct threading of your machine is absolutely essential for flawless function. I would suggest starting fresh, removing upper thread completely. For correct function, every threading point needs to be passed in the correct order. Every hole or thread guide should have thread going through it. Use a tweezer and pass the end of the cotton through each point, paying special attention to the tension discs and take-up lever. Double check to make sure you have light but firm tension on the thread (having lowered the presser foot, because tension is released when foot is up). Rotate the hand wheel slowly in it's normal direction to check function before attempting to sew.

If the bobbin thread is too loose, remove the bobbin spool AND carrier.Thread the thread through the tension clip on the holder in the normal way. Hold the thread and lift it. If the bobbin slides down, tighten the small screw 1/8 turn clockwise, until you can lift it with little or no sliding.

Hello

Disassemble your bobbin case which is realy quite easy, clean thoroughly with a brush and air, paying particular attention to any rust that may have formed, and any thread that may have weazeled it's way into small but very incremental areas of your case.

Make sure your needle is not in backwards.The rounded side should be on the outside

. If threading is correct and your tension is properly adjusted , then check the hook for scratches. If you have ever hit the hook with a needle, it will be scarred and will catch the thread every time the upper thread passes around the bobbin case. the hook is the sharp point on the shuttle that holds the bobbin case. If it is scratched, polish it smooth with VERY fine sand paper

Make sure that your thread arm that rises and falls, constantly having tension running through it and that it is in fact staying in place.

Alternate between the metal and plastic bobbins - sometimes the plastic bobbins tend to chip

Check that you have passed the thread through all the correct places in the correct order.

Make sure you're using a polyester thread (I use maxilock serger thread) then a stretch needle, and hold the tails of your thread until you get started into the seam so the fabric cannot push down into the opening on the throat plate.

Also, a small zigzag stitch (about 1.8 - 2.0 wide) is good to use on lycra as that will allow the fabric to stretch after the garment is made.

This is stuff I've used with my 6500P and other previous Janome machines in making Ice Skating outfits.

Hi you just have to open up the bobbin part with a screw driver, take out the bobbin and bobbin case, use a small lint brush clean the whole area.insert the bobbin back once you have finish. There must be a lot of lint in the area it can cause the problem you have.
