Why is the flash not working on my vivitar 8025

The 8025 is a very cheap camera....I hope you didn't pay more than $15 at the pawn shop. Your camera has a blown flash tube. The camera could have been dropped in water by the previous owner. You could have bought one at Walmart that would have at least worked a little longer.

Make sure you're not in macro mode. There's a slide switch on the end of the camera, near the USB socket. Slide it away from the flower toward the mountain.
Bear in mind that the flash is for still photos only, not for videos.

How large is the card? I don't think the 8025 can use anything bigger than 1 or 2gb.

Touch the lightning bolt icon area until the flash icon appears on the left side of the display. This will activate the flash.

Touch the lightning bolt icon area again until the flash symbol appears on the LCD screen. This forces the flash function.

Touch the lightning bolt icon area again until the eyeball icon appears on the left. This activates the red-eye reduction mode.

To turn off the flash, touch the lightning bolt icon area again until the no-flash icon (lightning bolt inside a circle) appears on the left.

The cheaper Vivitars don't have a built-in microphone.

turn it on i have one and when i turn it on and its pluggerd in it says mscd but when i unplug it and turn it on it is fully charged i know because the light that flashes is green .....it will not charge if that light is already green

I've read on yahoo answers that there is no mic in the 8025. So no sound for video. I know, it sucks.

When you turn the camera on and you are on the main screen, use the last touch screen button at the bottom marked with a lighting bold. If you hit it it once, the flash is automatic, if you hit it twice it is always on.
