Just to be clear. You get nothing on the screen at any time? No words or pictures ever? But the lights still work on the monitor?

You should try a different monitor if you can. I can't tell if you see the motherboard's BIOS, but if you don't, then I bet it's the monitor. If you can't find another monitor to plug it into, your TV might have the correct input. Hope this helps!

Dell 3000 beeps twice no video after blue dell logo.

The most possible cause is that RAM isnt attached properly on motherboard, it might loosen up sometimes. So just try to check your motherboard, pull out the RAM carefully from the RAM SLOT & attach it precisely. Hope it will work....

It wont boot, goes to black screen with whit blinking dash

Yes, this sounds like the traditional black screen issue, but it's different! This machine is a Dell Dimension 3000 with XP. System won't boot. After Blue Dell BIOS splash screen with F2 & F12 options, it just goes black. There will ultimately be a white cursor in the upper left hand corner. I can edit BIOS with F2, I can get in to the boot menu with F12, but I can't do anything after that. I can even get in to the Safe Mode menu (F8), but it never boots.

I clicked the turn off computer and it it shut down, now it will not restart ?

Make sure all the plugs are well seated, especially the power plug for the computer and monitor, and the video cable between the computer and monitor. Also check the power strip the computer is plugged into to see if it's tripped.

Dell Dimension 3000 Video problem

There may be a problem with your windows installation. Search Google for Hirens boot CD, it is a free download and should contain a live XP installation. When you turn on the computer tap the appropriate button to reach the boot menu, then insert the CD and select your CD drive. Once booted it should display a live XP.
Alternatively you may have your monitor set to an incompatible resolution. If tapping F8 won't display the advanced boot menu then try finding an auto setup on your monitor or change the resolution using the monitors controls. If the advanced boot menu does display then select low resolution mode.
Hope this helps,

Dell Dimension 4600 stalls during boot

Turn the computer's power on.
Immediately put the original Windows XP CD into the drive.
Tell the computer to boot from the CD (not from the hard-drive).
Does it start to boot from the CD?
Do you get as far as the "repair/install" boot-screen?
If so, your basic hardware is OK, and turn your computer off,
rather than choosing "repair" or "install".
Then, it's probably either the hard-drive that is failing,
or the installed copy of Windows XP is fuddle-duddle-ucked up, so that it cannot finish the "Windows startup" processing.
