My Fridiaire refrigerator model GHSC39ETJB2 serial # 4A83300072 The refrigerator side (freezer side works normally) interior lights intermittantly (some times they work fine, next time, do not). Lights intermittantly do not work. Light bulbs are good. Cleaned the door edge frame and seal. Can barely hear an magnetic switch make and breaking contact in the lower center door frame.

only 5 years is important, sounds very much like you have a bad compressor, It's trying to start asn cant so it shuts down(therees the noise your hearing. 5 year manufacture warr. so see if you can find your bill of sale. and give manufacture a call

replace the switch before the seal, nothing wrong with gasket., you may need to raise the refrig door a bit by , remove the door and install a small spacer to raise the door slightly for better contact

its air pressure between the wo doors that cause it to open the freezer door.take some soapy water and clean the sels aroundboth doors to see itf thet dosent help use dish soap and a little water to clean the seals with it should stop it

there is an external fan near the compressor usually at the bottom of the unit on the back side and if this fan does not run the freezer will not freeze. u can also look for a defrost timer located near the bottom of the refrigerator with the door open or just under the freezer in the refrigerator compartment. It will look like a plastic screw that can be turned only one way with a flathead screwdriver because of its design. Some times these timers just get stuck and will work again if u rotate it with a screwdriver one revolution or two. Allow an hour to see if freezer works after tuning. Please rate me
