I just got a RCA STAV-3990 Stereo/Audio Receiver given to me. I see I can hook up my turntable into the AUX inputs in the back, but where do I put the grounding wire for the record player? My old stereo...

Use one of the screws that hold the receiver's case. Also, if you haven't already tried to use the turntable, make sure that the receiver's volume is turned way down, typically phono inputs are a lot more attenuated than aux inputs are. You may damage your speakers and or your ears!
