Need to know where to connect igniter button to where side burner is still connected not main burners

According to your Owners Manual, the side burner uses the same electronic ignitor as the main burners. I know that sounds odd, but that's what Charbroil often does with their igrills.

To help you with further insight and in case you've misplaced your Owners/Assembly Manual, I have included a link to it that you can download and print for future reference, if you like.

I am trying to remove burners to clean. I have removed carry-over tube but can't get burners out. They seem to be in a bind. Are they attached anywhere or do I just pull out?

Look closely, where the spark ignitor touches the burner. You will see 2-sheet metal screws that attach the burner to the floor of the grill's casting. If you can remove those, the burner can be removed and slid of the venturi valves. These sheet metal screws will probably be covered with grease and a bit rusty. So, use caution when trying to remove them.

If it will be of any help and for future reference, I have included a link to your Owners Manual, that you can download and print.

I'm trying to replace the paddle burners on this grill, but I don't know how to get the old ones off. Char-Broil said I have to disassemble the entire firebox to replace them. Is this correct, or is...

Hello, The model number that you gave is relatively simple to change the burners.

  1. Remove the 3 cooking grids
  2. Remove the 3 vaporizer tents
  3. Between each burner is a "pal nut" that just pushes on and will likely be destroyed when you remove it. They run a couple bucks each at Sears, part # 7000132
  4. This will release the carry over tube holding the burners down and the burners can be lifted out.
  5. Ensure that you clean out the carry over tube when you reassemble. This carries the flame from the first burner across to each of the rest of the burners when lighting them.
  6. Reassemble in the reverse order ensuring that you put the burner tubes over the burner valve tubes when reassembling.

Do you use lava rocks or just use propane flame?

Hello, There should be vaporizer tents over each burner. As a reference you can got to website: http://www.charbroil.com/bps/char-broil/char-broil/knowledge/7001189_463453306_english_37f8ef8b-0_.pdf

and refer to the bottom of page 9 or find your model number and enter it into the search bar at the top right of the Char-Broil website: http://www.charbroil.com/

You can order needed parts from there or from Sears which I have found to be quite competitive on their prices.

I dunno, I have not done the conversion for this particular barbecue, but the kit is listed in the parts list for that barbecue,

It would be appropriate at this time to print the conversion instruction manual and take it to a local 'guy' a gas fitter.
The instruction .pdf shows them converting 3, 5, 7 burner units with the same kit, and states
  • Insert orifice removal tool provided with kit onto firebox burner openings and unscrew orifices from valves.
Save removed orifices for later if converting back to LP Tank Gas.
The valves are designed to work with natural gas once orifices are removed.
Do not replace any Orifices when using natural gas.
NOTE: your gas conversion kit comes with replacement orifices for the Rotisserie Burner ONLY, do not use on Tube burner valves.

seems the same 2-burner kit is for all barbecues
I think the person on the phone messed up, but a gas-guy would know for sure

All lpg(propane) fueled barbecues can be converted to natural gas some easier than others.
The process requires changing the tiny lpg nozzle with a larger low pressure ng nozzle,
Charbroil web site lists the kit -available parts for the grill http://www.charbroil.com/consumer/product_detail_e.aspx?ProductID=438
the gas conversion kit from half way down the page
http://www.charbroil.com/consumer/product_detail_e.aspx?ProductID=1722
for $69.99

  • SHOULD be done by a licensed person for safety & insurance reasons,
