but real quick, heres the essentials:

Fill the SmartMix/formula tank

Lift the formula tank up and out of the machine base.

Fill the formula tank

by first unscrewing the cap

and insert. Always use genuine BISSELL formulas

to maximize cleaning and for the safety of your

machine. Fill formula up to the line and replace the

cap and insert. Place formula tank into the slot in the

back of the machine for a snug fit.

2b.

If using the BISSELL 3X Concentrated Fiber Cleansing

Formula: Add 3 capfuls of 3X Concentrated Fiber

Cleansing formula to the formula tank, and then fill

with warm water to the line.

Note: If bottle leaks, check for proper positioning

of red gromment and straw insert.

How to put a Kirby Vacuum belt back on New belt seems too short

To put on a kirby belt all you need to do is put on the belt on the brushroll, put the brushroll into the housing making sure the marks on the end of the brushroll are the same. Take the spin dial in the front and "hook" the belt till the dial reads off. Put the head back on the machine and spin the dial to "on".

Self propel belt is too tight to put back on

the best way to install it is to put it on the motor shaft first and then to start putting it on the large pulley at the top and roll it on these belts can be hard to put on.

Cleaning solution just flows out

Make sure the cap and the inner valve is seated tightly. There should be a black rubber gasket to help seal the cap and valve. A quick test is to fill the cleaning soultion tank with water (so not to waste the cleaning solution) turn it over and see if it leaks. If not then the problem would be where the tank sits in the unit. Make sure there is no debris in the unit where the tank sits.

Savvy vacuum belt

It is easier when you also take the top off. Then you can put the belt over the roller and re-install it, then put the bottom plate back on, then turn it over, undo the motor and put the belt on the motor pulley, re-install the motor and put the rest back together. To remove the top, thewre are a couple of scres from the bottom, then from the top, remove the Hoover emblem, there is a screw there to remove and the top will come off.

Can't get water to spray out of the hand tool nozzle

When you attach the main suction hose to the front of the machine, you also have to connect the soultion hose to a valve located on the side of the machine. When the machine is running, take a small screwdriver and depress the centre of this valve. You should get a spray of water out of the valve which will confirm the valve and pump is working. Now, connect the small solution hose, making sure you push it on all the way. When you pull the trigger on the handle of the hose, you should get spray. If it does not, you may have a plugged nozzle sprayer.

Smelled like rubber burning

First take off the cover on the left side oif the top cover, then turn it over, remove the screw holding the red lock and put the cap and brush roll out, remove the cap, remove the cogged belt, then you can put the new pump belt thru that slot, put over the pulley on the pump and then stretch it to go over the motor shaft. Then put back together.
