try to download a driver from the internet, type LG and then the specific type of drive (CD ROM, DVD ROM, CD/RW, CD/RW DVD ROM or CD/DVD/RW) hope this helps, Daniel
I just fixed a problem I had with my cd-rom where it wasn't burning my cd's. I downloaded the ASPI Driver for Windows from here and it fixed my problem. Without that driver, your cd-rom doesn't get fully reconized by the system basically. Let me know if this helps.
I believe we need drivers for CD ROM if both laptop are of same models. Can you plese insert the faulty CD ROM to your laptop and verify whether it is working or not. If yes, then you'll have take your daughter's laptop to service center. Could be a problem with mother board.
Please come back and give ratings to my solution if this turns to be helpful for you or also if you need more clarification.
Thnx
Hi there, do not format now. Just try these.
Run the driver disk & install the CD/DVD driver. After finish the setup restart your pc or laptop. Hope that time your CD rom detecting the cds. But make sure, that your rom is working. Because if the cd rom is damaged then after formatting you can't install the operating system. May be your cd rom lens is damaged & that's why he can't read the cds or dvds. I suggest you Visit a service center & check the cd rom only. If you able to view the cd rom driver in side the my computer then, i am sure your vd rom lens is damaged.
Thanks & waiting for your feedback.
Please roll back your driver or you need to reinstall driver from driver CD i think this is helpful to you if this solution is not solve your problem then plug out your CD ROM and replug CD ROM properly
Right click on cd rom device with yellow mark and click on uninstall. after that cd rom device is deleted from device list.now right click on Home and click scan for hardware changes.now you got driver installation for your cd rom.if not restart yopur system you will get driver installation.
go http://www.cdrom-drivers.com/drivers/77/77204.htm (thats driverguide: name temp; pass 512) but that CD reader does not need drivers if you use windows98 Me 2000 XP 2003 or Vista... if its not working and your computer is ok you surely have connected something the wrong way.
well, suddenly the DVD-RW drive is not working. Please advise. PC troubleshooter says no connection/communication. Thanks :)
